"Your eyes whispered, "Have we met?

I was enchanted to meet you."

The place goes wild with applause after Anthony's speech.

"So, you are telling me that you did not know who THE Adira Joy is?" Arthur whispered being baffled at his teammate for not doing his research.

Yes, Arjun did not know the history of Adira. But he did not waste any more time after that certain meeting and immediately looked her up on the way home. To say he was astonished would be an understatement.

Arjun was too much of a busy man to keep up with the motorsport industry and controversies, but this was so blind of him.

He could not believe his eyes when google showed him pictures of 'driver Adira' on his screen.

Apparently with the knowledge he had acquired from the Wikipedia sources, Adira was a talented junior motorsport driver. There were articles online about how she had won pole positions in the various races she had taken part in.

He looks towards Adira, standing across the room talking with two older men clearly looking bored as she nodded to their words.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over the elegant garden of the Joy mansion, the atmosphere was charged with excitement. It was the night of the much-anticipated introduction party for Adira Joy, the team Principal of Nitro.

Her presence was magnetic, and all eyes were on her as she moved gracefully through the crowd. All the men and women of importance present there like a pack of hungry jackals waiting for Anthony's pick to make a mistake. Nevertheless she smiled and greeted her guests with such genuine warmth, making everyone feel truly enchanted by her charm and charisma.

Adira, however, was anything but thrilled.

She glanced around the garden, noting the sea of elegantly dressed attendees. Yet, to her nothing more than people she had to please by faking laughter and forcing smiles. Her mind wandered to random thoughts as she paid no attention to anything the men in front of her spoke, occasionally nodding to their words cluelessly.

Her Mother approached, her voice filled with enthusiasm, "Adira, isn't this just the most amazing night?"

Adira mustered a half-hearted smile, "Yes, it's quite the spectacle, isn't it?"

Jane prattled on about the success of the event, but Adira's mind was elsewhere. As she let her eyes shift around the place, finally settling on another curious pair of eyes. The second their eyes met, Adira's heart jumped into her throat.

He was walking in her direction with a concerned look on his face. She immediately diverted her gaze to Jane, trying to look unbothered by him.

"Hi" Arjun uttered, for some reason keen on making conversation with her.

"Hello Arjun, pleasure to meet you." Jane exclaimed to the young man.

"Likewise ma'am, would you mind if I speak to Adira for a minute?" Arjun requested, politely.

"Of course" Jane replied, giving the co-workers their space and making her way to greet more people.

"You might want to thank me for that" Arjun hinted at saving her from the boredom.

"Who would have known, Arjun Kumar, my knight in shining armor!" Adira remarked sarcastically with a smile.

Arjun chuckled. "Yeah well I go around trying to help pretty women get out of boring conversations in parties." He replied quickly.

Both of them bursting into fits of giggles after a long silence.

"No but seriously can I ask you a question if it isn't too personal?" Arjun pried.

"Go on, not like I've been asked enough personal questions tonight, might as well add one more to it"

"I just realized you are the only one with an Indian name in your family?"

Adira just blinked at the man in front of her, clad in his black button downs. Out of all things she imagined him to ask, this was not it.

"What! I'm Indian and curious to know, that's it" Arjun defended, thinking she was offended.

"No it not that-" She left the sentence hanging, not knowing how to complete it.

"Anthony is not my biological dad. He is my stepdad. My bio dad is Indian and my mum is British"

"oh I'm sorry I-"

"You're good. There's nothing to be sorry about anyway, I'm happy about Anthony being my stepdad." She ranted.

Adira would never let her family down, no matter what. Although she still hasn't figured out how to be completely comfortable in Anthony's presence, she wouldn't deny that he was an amazing father.

Every move he played was associated with either her or Daniel.

Adira still vividly remembered the first time she met Anthony when she was 12. She had no clue then that he would one day be marrying her mother.

But all she remembered was that, it was one of the best nights she'd ever have at the arcade.

In a brightly lit Arcade Centre stood Anthony with his 18 year old son, who was hell bent on not meeting his dad's new woman. His resolute decision did not last a minute after little Adira curiously peeked at him from behind her mother's silhouette.

Adira recalled herself running around the whole arcade with Daniel that night and how Anthony and Daniel competitively won, each a humongous teddy bear for her. She still saved those in her childhood bedroom to this day.

Arjun on the other hand was melting away at the sight of her deep dimples being exposed at whatever she was reminiscing and smiling.

A comfortable silence prevailed between them. It was not awkward or loud. Just Arjun thinking of a way to prolong the conversation cause he was fond of her presence. He did not know why, but it was just calming.

The night deepened, stars emerging, their conversation continued. They shared silly stories and laughter, like when Arjun told her the story of how he swore to never drive ever again because he fell off his bicycle when he was 5.

He also noticed, not once did their conversation shift towards driving or his performance in the sport. He quite liked that.

He however held back his tongue on asking the question that was gnawing at the back of his brain. He wanted to have a normal chat for once and blocked out the thought of asking her.

Arthur at some point had joined he two. And he spent most of the time fangirling over the fact that he was actually talking to THE Adira.

The night was coming to an end wiith them being one of the last ones to say their goodbyes.

As Adira walked towards her patio, she let herself wonder when was the last time she had a night like this.
Her thoughts lingered on Arjun, the time they spent together that evening.

Surprise struck the girl as her mind pondered over the fact that if he ever will realise how enchanted she was to meet him.

Hey guys, hope you enjoyed this chapter.

I'm so sorry for the delayed publishing of this chapter. My family had caught a vomiting bug over the weekend at the Sydney amusement park. So I spent the last few days sick :(
