"...I'm sure you guys are thirsty? Hungry?" I mentally slapped myself. Unfortunately, It sounded so smooth saying it in my head, but now that I spoke the words I was screaming fake, fake, fake in my mind, I cowered in disappointment.
The jerkwad's reaction though, was exactly what I was hoping for. "Now that's more like it." He smiled deviously, adding a soft chuckle as he half-staggered back to the couch in the living room.
His girlfriend followed him like she was a lost puppy, begging for his attention. "Hey babe, find the remote." He beckoned in a tedious tone.
Ryan smiled in contentment to my offer, but scrutinized my expression. I suspected it was to make sure I didn't have something up my sleeve. I gave him the most innocent smile, knowing that I actually did in fact have something up my sleeve.
My attention shifted back to the girl busily looking for the remote. The jerkwad didn't care for his little barbie doll to much. He seemed bored with her, his eyes showed no compassion, just lust when she'd do certain things to grab his attention.
Ryan casually walked over to our other couch before collapsing down onto it. He sprawled out and intertwined his hands before placing them behind his head. A soft sigh came from his mouth as he settled into our three thousand dollar wooden couch.
My body shifted its weight onto my left foot, amused at the scene before me. It was obvious why the jerkwad was bored with her- she obeyed his every command and her eyes constantly begged for his attention.
I fixed my eyes on the remote several times in the midst of her frantically searching for it. Her body was growing tense, her cheeks flushed with frustration at her failing attempt of finding it.
Ian became agitated with her lack of fulfilling his want. He sighed heavily and got off the couch to retrieve the remote himself. "It was right in front of your eyes, maybe if you'd use your brain every now and then you'd actually be able to do something rather than depend on me for everything." He snapped in a twisted bitterly harsh tone. He knew where it was the whole time as well, I could see it in his eyes.
Tears welled up in her eyes and streamed down her cheeks, turning her face blood red. She clenched her fists tightly and gritted her teeth. She shot me a death glare before turning swiftly on her heel towards the bathroom.
The biggest smile spread across my face, it couldn't have possibly been any funnier to see her be treated like that. In my opinion she deserved it for what she said to me. She stepped into the bathroom and turned to shut the door, noting the smile on my face. She shot me a bitter glare before taking the door in her hands and slamming it shut. The walls rattled in agony.
A picture frame fell from it's post and shattered sending shards of glass all over the floor. The missing glass revealed the bare picture that resembled the other ones I found in my parents bedroom. Me in the middle with the two sides torn off. My smile quickly faded and my expression turn cold.
It hurt to see that. I quickly turned away as tears rolled down my cheeks and edged my sleeve over my hand to brush them away before anyone could notice. Stay calm, Ava. A voice commanded. I took a deep breath in and exhaled slowly to calm myself. I knew that if I wouldn't have I would have broke down crying in the middle of the floor revealing my lack of power and weakness. It would have gave these fools something to torment me with.
My body turned back around as Ian vented. "I genuinely do not think I can put up with her anymore." He heaved a heavy sigh."She behaves like a child, foolish, irresponsible, and ignorant-" He leaned forward letting his head fell into the palm of his hands, "That's not even to mention how sick I am of her craving my attention."
I smiled to myself- before I shot him a questioning look. He was being quite hypocritical, he was everything he accused her of being, all three of them were.
"Just get rid of her, Ian." Ryan shot him an annoyed look, "I'm tired of your complaining. If your that sick of her, kill her or throw her back out on the street, where she came from, and where she belongs." I gasped, kill her?
My attention adverted towards the kitchen. I need to get started with my idea before it's to late. They continued arguing seemingly forgetting they were in my house and that I was still standing there.
"I ought to just-" I cut him off, what I had to say was more important. "...I'm hungry-" I lied but continued on. "... so I'm going to fix me something to eat and I'm sure you guys are hungry to or at least thirsty?" I felt intimidated as they both gave me the same menacing look. I knew I had interrupted them but I figured they'd be excited to get some food.
"I could get you a cold beer or even make you a Margarita?" My parents rarely drank, but there was enough stuff in the kitchen to make them any type of alcoholic beverage that they wanted.
"Yeah how about a Margarita, I suppose." Ian said nodding his head as his eyes were still glued on the TV screen. "Oh and why don't you cook us something." He smirked knowing I would obey any command he gave to me.
I was going to play along- for now. "What would yo-" He cut me off knowing what my question was.
"Surprise me." He then looked away from the tv screen long enough to wink at me, but quickly returned his attention to the football game.
"Would your-" He cut me off again knowing exactly what I was about to ask which was becoming irritating. "No, forget her." He replied carelessly.
Ryan reached his arm into the air with his finger pointed up, "I'll have a Margarita to, maybe even a few at that, I'm sobering up." How pathetic was he?
But I wasn't going to complain. If Margaritas are what they want, revenge is what they'll get.
