For some reason, my body had no intention of moving. Instead it stood frozen in fear. Slam the door, Ava! Now! My mind told me to run, but my body wouldn't listen.

Instead, I stood there to struck with horror to even move one limb of my body.

The man pointing the gun at me had his hood up, making his features dark- but I could see the uncertainty that was hidden behind his cold lifeless eyes.

Reality snapped back in and the man was now pointing the gun in between my eyes as the corners of his mouth formed into a smirk. I squeezed my eyes shut, knowing that at any second my body would be limp on the ground, cold and stiff with no life left in me- But a part of me desired for that to happen. To be gone from the world that has turned it's back on me and crushed me with a series of overwhelming events. In my mind I was begging to hear the sound of the trigger.

Adrenaline rushed through my body at the thought of the gun ending every bit of life in me and every memory from my past. It sent a shiver crawling through my body and down my spine.

The man chuckled and my eyes shot open. He moved his gun down to my chest and pushed me backwards with it.

"You don't think I'm going to kill you yet do you? Were just getting started." My cheeks flushed with anger. Who did these people think they were that they can just come into my house and threaten me?

The other two figures followed him in it was still dark so I couldn't make out what they looked like, I was sure it was nothing that would be pleasing to look at though.

"Aha." The light turned on revealing satisfaction in the hooded man's face. I looked at all of them with disgust.

They're going to wish they didn't mess with me. I clenched my fist and my teeth together trying to stay calm.

The man with the hood looked at me sympathetically as he made his way to the fridge, "Let's see what we have in here," he spoke in a calm voice rubbing his hands together.

I focused my attention on the other two figures. One was a man and the other was a woman who both appeared to be in their mid-twenties. I noted they were probably a couple because of the way she was all over him. The man didn't seem to take to much notice of her though, he almost seemed annoyed.

"Well look what we have here," I stepped backwards as he walked towards me, "A fine lookin' gal." He prounounced the last part in an offensive tone as he rubbed his gun down my cheek.

I flinched and a disgusted look stained my face. "Don't. Touch. Me." I hissed, making sure to emphasize every word.

The girl laughed thinking she could sense fear in me, but I could see the jealousy in her face from the fact her little boytoy was attracted to me and wasn't paying attention to her. "No need to get hasty, were just looking for a little fun." He winked at me before his little barbie doll grabbed his arm and pulled him away wrapping him in a hug.

My body relaxed, I wasn't afraid- actually I was becoming amused with this whole situation, it was amusing to see her jealously. My eyes tightened, am I losing my mind? How can I be amused with a life or death situation?

Stay focused, stay on guard. A familiar voice commanded.

They obviously weren't that smart though, if they were they would have realized my house was already broken into and they would have walked straight in.

"I'm assuming you guys aren't the brightest crayons in the box, huh?" I crossed my arms deciding I was going to somewhat stand up for myself. I wasn't going to let them treat me any way they pleased.
