Chapter 16

It was finally the day that Cade, Shane, and Bumblebee were going to infiltrate the KSI Headquarters. Elizabeth and Tessa were both waiting in Drift's alternate mode while they waited for Cade to let them know that they were successful. The group of Autobots and two females were still at the church waiting for Cade to reach out. Both girls were starting to feel a little apprehensive when they noticed that Cade nor Shane had checked in with them. Bouncing in her seat, Tessa was starting to grumble about the possibility that the two men had been caught.

"Tessa, we would know if they were caught." Elizabeth finally sighed as she kept her eyes on the dash.

"You don't know -" She began only to be cut off by the radio.

"I'm in. Can you see what I'm seeing? They're melting Ratchet." Cade's voice came through.

"They slaughtered Ratchet! I'll tear them all apart!" Optimus shouted from behind the group.

"Optimus. I think it's time to leave." Elizabeth frowned as she looked out of Drift's window.

They could still hear Cade on the other end, but they noticed that he was talking to woman that must have been standing beside him. Elizabeth couldn't help but frown as she listened to how the woman talked about Cybertronians. That is, until she overheard the woman talking about something called Transformium. A gasp escaped her lips as she fully invested herself in their conversation until she could hear some men chasing after Cade. Tapping Drift's dashboard, she and Tessa both prepared for the quick maneuvering that the Autobot was getting ready to partake in. Drifting around the corner, Drift swings open both doors to let the women out before transforming and bursting through the glass front of KSI. Tessa's boyfriend, Shane, ran up beside them and led them over to the corner of the building. Remaining outside with the couple, Elizabeth watched the building anxiously for her Autobot friends to return. From inside the base, she could hear the sounds of gunfire and small explosions as the mechs ravaged the inside of the building. Soon, Cade came running out of the building and ordering that they all split up. Rushing over to Bumblebee, the three humans from Texas immediately jumped in.

"Elizabeth!" Prime's voice was loud as he swung open his door for the woman.

Clutching her rifle bag to her chest, Elizabeth launched herself into Optimus' cab and held on as he sped away from the building. Making their way onto the highway, she couldn't help but continue to glance into the driver side mirror. In her gut, she knew that something bad was coming and she wasn't entirely sure what was going to happen. She could feel sadness and anger radiating from the Prime as they escaped the city, but she didn't dare speak because she knew that he needed to focus on their retreat. Finally looking ahead, Elizabeth gasped when she saw what looked like explosions erupting several hundred feet in front of them.

"Optimus? What is that?" She whispered as she stared in horror at the scene that they were approaching.

"Let's find out." Was his reply before having to dodge the missiles that were being shot at them.

A scream elicited from the woman's throat as she was thrown from one side of the cab to the other, and she could imagine how the other three humans were feeling inside of Bumblebee's alternate mode. Looking out of the window, she barely caught a glimpse of a rocket launching passed them and into the traffic that was before them. Her heart stopped as she saw the debris flying in the air and the devastation that those missiles left behind. However, she didn't have much time to dwell on that as Optimus suddenly transformed and launched the woman high into the air. She couldn't help but scream at the unfamiliar feeling of flight, but her attention was then drawn to the other three as they were also in the same predicament as her. Fear was written all over their faces as they soared over the overpass, but slight relief came to them when Optimus managed to grab them all and securely transform around them. Breathing heavily, Elizabeth hunched behind the other three as Shane poked his head out of the window to see where the enemy was.
