"Rise and shine everyone!" Larry smiled triumphantly as the museum came to life, with figures and animals yawning and stretching after a long day of standing around and teaching children history.
"Ah, Laurence! Good evening!" An important man upon his horse smiled warmly as he trots up to the night guard, extending his hand.
"Evening, Teddy." Larry shook the president's hand and circled back to the others who have woken up. So far he just saw the giant T-Rex skeleton, Rexy, running around and wagging his long, bony tail, with the ground shaking underneath him. Some birds flew by while some cavemen were going crazy over the museum's newest automatic water fountain.
"So where's the miniatures?" Larry asked while picking up his feet and double checking the ground.
"Well, the pirates were going towards the staircase for a race with the cowboys just a moment ago." Teddy unmounted his horse and stood beside Larry.
The night guard frowned and headed towards the staircase to check it out, with the 26th president trailing behind him. They get to the marble staircase and look around the bottom of it, looking confused.
"I don't...see them..." Larry stretched.
"Um, lad? Look up."
Larry furrowed his eyebrows at Teddy before looking up, his eyes widening and his mouth slightly opening ajar at the sight. On the top of the staircase, standing on both of the railings, were handfuls of pirates and cowboys alike gathering around at the top, with guess who in the lead? The usual troublemakers, Jedediah Smith and Mary Read.
"You think you ladies can bet that I can win a trip down the slide?" Jed challenges with his western accent.
"You mean the bloody staircase railing, you moron." Mary hissed in her british accent, her buddies of pirates laughing cruelly behind her.
Larry groaned as he starts trudging up the stairs. Mary and Jed have what people call, a difficult relationship. Cowboys and pirates never really encountered each other in the real world...and for good reason, too. Both parties are like Jed's and Octavius' people fighting all over again. Both sides have their differences, that's for sure.
"Haha, you tell that rat, Mark!" Anne Bonney, Mary's best friend, cheers for her, calling her by her nickname.
"Argh!" Some of Anne and Mary's crew hollered.
"Hey! Hey hey hey, guys." Larry finally made it to the top of the stairs, and looked down at both species of tiny people, "What's going on?"
"Blondie here thinks a lady can't do anything besides cooking and cleaning for men." Mary sneered as she crossed her arms and glared at Jed.
"Hey! Watch the Blondie comment, short stack!" The cowboy shouted.
"You're one to talk, toy soldier!"
The two kept bickering until Larry cut in, "Hey! Girls and boys! Up here, please." Both looked up at him, "There's no need to be fighting. Jed, did you actually say that about women?"
"Course not, Gigantor! I said something and she took it the wrong way, that's it!" Jed yelled at the top of his lungs, stomping his foot like a pouting child.
Larry huffed. Usually these two get along great, and they like to do a bunch of pranks along with Octavius. Those three are as thick as thieves, no pun intended. You can say that Mary and Jed have a thing going on, its just that they won't admit or show it.
"Okay, but there's no need to race down the 'slide' to sort out differences here, okay? No go. No comprendo." Larry shook his head.
"Ah come on, Larry." Mary scoffed with a small smirk as she looked up at him, "We have the Romans at the bottom to catch us. We may be fragile but we know what we're doing."
