Ash's Pov:
The bus Uzi and I, plus our class, were riding came to a stop in front of Camp 98.7. We all got off, Uzi and I being the last ones. Uzi was wearing her backpack. We walk with the group, passing the sign for the camp. Stopping just before the sign, Uzi looked down to her hand which held Doll's and our's collars remembering what dad told us.
Flashback: Still Ash's Pov:
"After the core collapsed... I... didn't notice the collars." dad said, showing us an old photo of him and mom, along with a group of friends. "Only your mom being a catch!" dad said, throwing the picture up in the air and catching it, before giving Uzi and I finger guns. The two of us didn't respond to dad's comment. Dad sighs. "She was always all, "Build doors against the coming sky demons!" "A singularity awakens." "Look at this cool S I can draw!" Dad said, then sighs again. "Turns out, I'm not who either of you needed." He said, closes the door. "Just... Be safe, okay?" Dad asked, closing the door. "Hey dad, did mom carry me around, as an embryo that is?" I asked dad. "Ohh, trust me Ash, there wasn't a time your mom was not holding you. She loved you Ash. I think at times she loved you more than me, but I know how important you were to her and that led me to loving you too, and when Uzi joined our family I knew I had everything I wanted." Dad said, handing Uzi our collars.
Present time: Still Ash's Pov:
Uzi placed Doll's collar on her pocket and handed me mine. We both put them on. "Uh, teacher, what is this field trip?" Braidon asked the teacher, who is setting a chair on the roof of one of the buildings. "Yeah, Uzi and Ash's idea. Ask them." the teacher said, adjusting his chair. "Who?" Braidon scoffed. "We've sat next to you for years." Uzi said, startling our classmates, one did the cress sign. "Bite me! I asked to go alone. He's mad at your test scores." Uzi said, pointing at the teacher. "No year-end bonus, no learning." He spoke. "So, we're just unsupervised?" Braidon said, but a crash interrupted him. "What the-!?" He yelled. At that moment, V and N came crashing down in front of us. N turns to them menacingly, ready to kill us and ingest their warm, sweet oil, but becomes suddenly jolly. "Welcome, campers! Let's sound off!" N said, doing a little trick with the clipboard. He gets ready to do roll-call, but instead begins to count. "One, two..." N started. He stops. Nobody continued so a student gets shot at by V and falls over, dead. "THREE/FOUR/FIVE/SIX/SEVEN/EIGHT/NINE/TEN/ELEVEN!" Everyone said at once, not wanting to be killed. "That's everyone!" N said then whispers to V, "Minus one..." then became loud to the students. "We got so many distracting activities planned, so no sneaking off to investigate stuff!" He slyly gestures to Uzi and I. "To the bunks! N shouted, walking off. He stopped when the others weren't following him. N looked to Uzi and I for help. "Sounds good, N!" Thad said. "Anything for my bestie!" Lizzy cheered. The two go to join N and V but nobody else does. "Y-Yeah, they're like our friends, too, so... It's cool." Uzi said, causing everyone to flee in a panic by our presence.
"You can be our friend, little guy!" Emily said, holding N's hand. "Poor things defective?" Darren said, poking V in the eye. She grabbed his hand and looked at Uzi and I. "Hmph. Nah, just full of love. This one's a pilot." V said, pointing to N. "Wow, a pilot." Rebecca gave a little flirt. N looks back at Uzi and I, Uzi gestures that we will go our own way and that N should get everyone else to the campsite. She gives a thumbs up, N nods, and the two of us head into the woods, alone.
Uzi and I began to make our way to an abandoned building. "Hey Uzi, can I ask you something?" I asked. "Uhh, sure, what's on your mind?" Uzi asked me. "Have-have you been blacking out lately?" I asked. "What!?" Uzi yelled, now facing me. "You've been blacking out? When?" Uzi questioned me. "I don't know, for a couple of hours, but I wouldn't be on the floor, I would be standing. It would happen every once in a while ever since the whole Doll thing." I say as we get closer to the building. "Are you feeling okay? Do you wanna head back? We can head back if you're not feeling well?" Uzi bombarded me with questions. "Uzi, I feel fine, let's just get this over with." I say as we reach the building.
