Gift and a Curse

Love is a gift and a curse.

Now that I've accepted my feelings I can't stop thinking about her. We should hang out one of these days.

"Earth to Y/N!" Kita shouts at me.

"O-Oh uh sorry, I was spacing out."

Me and Kita planned on heading to a karaoke bar so I could show her my singing progress. This mainly was her plan though.

"You always look like you're thinking about something."

"Hehe..."

We enter the karaoke bar and check in, once that was done, we head to the room we were given. It's been 2 months since we've all been working. I think we all have enough money to get a gig going. We don't need that crazy amount of money right?

Now all that's left is the song making...

"You're pretty good. Just need to improve on those high notes and controlling your breath. Don't forget to warm up before doing any vocal activity!"

"I know I know."

Warming up is so embarrassing when people are around.

"Hey Kita-san. Can I tell you something?"

Kita looks me in the eyes with curiosity.

"Of course! What's up?"

It's time she should know. I wanna be honest with her and stop denying it.

"I like Bocchi-chan."

Kita looks at me in surprise but eventually smiles brightly.

"So, I was right. I'm so glad you like her. Seeing someone like you in love with her makes me so... so happy. I'm just happy she has..."

Tears begin to roll down her face.

"W-Woah you okay? I didn't mean to make you cry!"

She rubs her eyes.

"No, I'm fine... I'm just happy you're in love with her. She downplays herself so much, she acts like she's the worst thing ever but that's wrong! Gotoh-san is amazing! She's one of the best people I've ever met! That's why I'm so happy people like you are acknowledging her. I want people to see how amazing Gotoh-san really is!"

Damn... what a great friend Kita is to Bocchi.

"I mean who wouldn't enjoy hanging out with her? She's fun to be around."

"I know right?! She just needs to work on her social anxiety. That's why I try my best to help her when she's in need!"

"I try too. But I don't want to help her too much to the point where I look creepy. You see I overthink a lot..."

Kita chuckles.

"You two are so similar. Oh my god you two would be so cute together!"

"Ehe... I don't know if I should tell her or not. I don't want this all to get in the way of the band."

Kita puts her hand on her chin and thinks for a moment.

"I see. Well, my advice is to wait a little bit before doing anything to see if these feelings will go away or not. Just to be safe!"

But I feel like they will only get stronger from here on.

She pats my back.

"But don't worry! If you need help with making moves or anything, come to me! I'll be your wingman!"
