The Abbey wasn't anything of a magnificent sort, we let our numbers dwindle as becoming a part of the Abbey was only to be bestowed on the highest of honorables; any motivational threats hadn't disturbed Pennautropa's peace in decades. Some Templars of the Abbey grew bored and have since left in search of a higher risk line of defense in another city. Taking advantage of this, Lady Altair of the nine remaining Templars had acted upon her restlessness and lust to be painted with blood on a battlefield once again. Like others before her, she publicly announced her resignation from our Abbey to become a part of a front line defense in Ignistis, a facade masking her ambitions to gather a small army to overthrow the Capitol. Her plan was only a mere ploy to come running to the front gates, pretending to warn us of an approaching army she caught wind of during her journey in an attempt to appear as a savior. Despite the Abbey's victory, it would be announced that we had lost our monarch in battle, resulting in our people demanding Lady Altair inherit the throne. In the weeks leading up to her formal coronation, she bestowed upon the Abbey the official title the 'Nine'.
Pennautropa has since grown like weeds under Lady Altair's iron rule, our advancements in technology at our military's disposal is widely feared and has been for the last decade out of the three we've been considered a police state. Over time, the Nine have been seen amongst common soldiers less and less, and have nearly faded into a mere legend. Some believe they are strictly Royal Guard, others believe they do Lady Altair's dirty work. Nowadays, it is questioned if there are even nine of them still. As the last bestowed member of the formerly known Abbey, I am Vasos, the Ninth Templar.
