Why Are You Here?

The esteemed archiver, Shiori Novella, was sitting in her room shaped like a library; blaring My Chemical Romance's hit song "Mama" through her

Klipsch Klipschorn Heritage Series Floorstanding Speakers while reading Twilight. Any time Edward Cullen showed up, she would kick her legs and giggle. She is the least insane Edward Cullen fan, objectively.

But that is when she heard a knock on her door.

Huh? Who could it be at this hour of night, at 3 AM? She sighed and closed the book, making a mental note of where she left off, and opened the door.

Shiori can't believe what she's seeing.

A tall mechanical entity with a silicone shell topped off with brown faux fur, a bowtie, a top hat, and a microphone lodged in its right hand.

"F-Freddy?!" She gasps, taking a step back in surprise. "I told you not to follow me home again!"

Freddy Fazbear shyly flickers his eyelights in the unforgiving blizzard, gesturing with his hand to let him in. Aggravatedly, Shiori lets him inside. Despite their feud, she still cares about Freddy's circuits and wires freezing. Shutting the door behind him, she gestures to him to take a seat in an oddly Freddy-shaped chair, and he obliges.

"Why are you here?" Shiori began her interrogation, leaning forward in her chair and setting an elbow on her thigh in interest. Freddy responded with a series of clicks and clacks.

"But... You know we can't..."

Shy clicks, shy gears turning.

Shiori cackles like a maniac. After a short bout of laughter, she deadpans. "Jeez, I can't even hear myself speak anymore. Let me cut the music." She enthusiastically leaps off of her luxurious couch (totally not taken from a dump and deep-cleaned) to turn off the new playing song, "Forfeit" by Chevelle.

While doing so, Freddy played his music box to the tune of the song, lip-syncing to it as well. Or, err... The best he can, given his lack of lips. Shiori quickly noticed, pausing mid-motion to look over her shoulder at the big brown bear. "You know this song too?"

Freddy nods and... Smiles? Despite having no facial muscles???

"Huh... I never knew you liked that kind of stuff. I thought all you listened to was Frank Sinatra or The Guess Who or something."

Freddy shakes his head and responds with a small series of unidentified noises.

"Oh, so you like more than one genre, but they've only programmed you to be able to play that kind of music in one go?" It seems she was right on the money about that, as he continued to play chopped-up bits of sound the music box can make and tried to sync it to "Forfeit", and then played half of "Fly Me To The Moon" without any chops.

"That sounds like a horrible existence. Yet again, I pity you."

Freddy frowns and looks down. Shiori finally clicks off the music and returns to her seat, returning to the position she originally sat in.

"Don't feel bad, Freddy! A skilled mechanic could make your existence less horrible, you know?"

The bear doesn't respond. How is he getting bullied by a girl 5x shorter than him?

"You know, back when we were dating, I did help you get some repairs and new functions. Like improving your eye LEDs, adding magnets to your hat and bowtie, failing to add big scary claws, and we never got to finish unsticking your microphone to your hand because we broke up around that time. I know I did most of those myself, yet I didn't charge a dime. Mainly because you're a walking bear robot and everyone is just a little bit freaked out by you."

This hit Freddy like a truck. It seems like he's been relying on her too much; with all the repairs and whatnot she offered, and the fact that he couldn't refuse. He couldn't turn down a girl with that face, or those eyes... It's too much for him. She's just too pretty.

That's right — pretty girls are Freddy Fazbear's weakness.

"You came here because you want me back, right? And not just for the repairs and improvements?"

That caught him off guard. His eyelids wavered at her words, eyes (literally) flickering in surprise. Almost immediately after, Shiori got smug. "Oh, I'm right? I can't say I'm surprised. What other reason would warrant someone to go to another person's house in an intense snowstorm?" The dual-haired woman gave Freddy a toothy grin. It was almost scary how much she understood the bear; he felt mildly intimidated.

She knew his insides, his mechanics, better than anyone else -- even better than his creator. She knows his personality well, too; they have known each other for a very long time. In Freddy's case, he's known her for his entire life. That thought alone raised questions that he was afraid to ask, or even answer; Was she playing him like a fiddle? Is she close to him so she can build her engineering resume? Why are girls in STEM always crazy?

"How about we make a deal?" Shiori asks, her grin disappearing.

Freddy hesitantly clicks. He doesn't know what to expect at this point.

"How about... We get back together, and continue with your upgrades, yes? But there's a caaatch~" She leans forward and extends an arm towards the bear, placing a hand on his nose and gently pressing down; causing it to squeak. Freddy clacks in surprise like a startled kitten before Shiori continues, "Like last time, you have to make sure your friends don't find out. They'd look at you funny if they found out you were dating a human girl, right?" Freddy doesn't respond.

A bout of silence befalls the two before Shiori speaks again.

"If it makes you feel any better, my friends won't know either. It'll be a secret, just between you and me. Are you up for it, Fred?"

Freddy pauses.

"Y... Yes," He replies with an air of hesitance.

It was the only word he was programmed to say.
