As the weeks slipped away, I pushed myself to the limits of my strength, readjusting to my human form. It proved challenging, with the evident weakness reflecting the harsh reality of my body's decline. Frustratingly, I was confined to the shack, unable to escape the pain and growing sickness. Through it all, Neteyam steadfastly held my hand.

Even in our confined space, we engaged in playful training sessions, though they often ended with me vomiting. Our moments away from the family were spent within the walls of the shack. I yearned to be in my human body as much as possible, as it had been my vessel since birth. Our alone time stretched into the night, filled with his sweet words and gentle kisses. However, the challenge intensified the next day when I had to transition back into my avatar and resume training.

However, that didn't stop me from training. The villagers began to notice my dedication and my eagerness to learn their ways. The only difference to Matkayina training was that I also learnt how to use the bow and arrow. Archery held great significance among the Omaticaya people, and I was determined to master it. I was consistent and focused with practice, tirelessly honing my skills.

Neteyam, drawing from his own upbringing under Jake's guidance as a young boy, demonstrated his unique approach to archery. With his guidance, I learned to hold the bow steadily, aligning it precisely with the taut string. Neteyam made subtle adjustments to my form, raising my elbow higher and encouraging me to tighten my core.

Positioning myself, I drew in a deep breath and released the arrow. It took several attempts, but with each try, I demonstrated improvement. Eventually, my arrow pierced the target, proving I had improved in archery.

The unbreakable bond between Neteyam and me left no doubt for Jake and Neytiri. I was now a cherished member of the family, regardless of whether I was in my human form or Avatar. However, they knew I was growing weaker and everyone could see that.

The chief recognised my dedication and my willingness to adapt to the clan's way of life. He's a wise and fair leader, judging me based on my character and not by my form. It pained him to see me suffer from the disease. That's why this day has become a blessing. Sitting in the shack with quiet music playing in the background, listening to every beat of my heart rate on the machine. I'm now at the point where I can't move or shift into my avatar, but a small spark of electricity ignites every time I see him walk through the door. His grin makes my heart skip as he pulls out a sun lily from behind his back, a gorgeous illuminated blue flower with a purple outline on the leaves.

"Neteyam, it's beautiful. Thank you."

I say weakly, wrapping my arms around him as he softly kisses my lips.

"Y/n... I have something to tell you."

He says as he sits beside the bed.

"Yeah, what's wrong?"

I lock my attention on him.

"I can't watch you suffer anymore, Y/n. You're my mate, and I promised to do everything in my power to make you happy and for us to be together forever."

"What can we do about it?"

Just before he could answer, I looked out the window to see the chief, Ronal, Tsireya, Ao'nung and the rest of the clan waiting outside with torches.

"What's going on?"

I ask with confusion.

"We're all here for you, Y/n, and I want you to make this upcoming decision."
