WHEN THAT MORNING, the bell rang inside the classroom, Raegan yawned loudly and watched her own dark circles under her eyes. Bags, even, at this point. Yet, she closed her book and waited for her classmates to leave the place, just as she would in moments after. Mere seconds even, for a matter of fact. Nearly as close to the door as her teacher was, she looked at her friend, Annabeth, speaking with her boyfriend. She was good, kind, as if none would find any flaw in her. Somewhat, it made Raegan proud to know her. Ever since the two were children, they both dreamed to become two nurses and to work in the same hospital in Mystic Falls or even elsewhere. When she saw the girl get done with her conversation, Raegan lifted her head up to the window to see how late it was outside. Something around 8 pm at least, and that was the last lesson of the day for them both.
"Oy, Rae', you heard about these murders that happened around ? Like, the animal attacks." She nodded. "Yes, and ?"
Anna bit her lip, trying to collect her words to explain herself further, as Raegan watched her almost lose her composure. She knew Annabeth was quite paranoid due to the recent events that happened in town, but would that let them take a step back from living their lives ? "I mean, maybe it's not dumb to not go out, is it?"
"Yeah, and miss Tyler's party ? C'mon, he'll kill me if I told him I won't come. He'll be grouchy."
"Yeah, and what about being grouchy above our graves?"
Raegan sighed. No, she wouldn't let the blonde have the final word. "Look, what about you stay in my house with me and my sister ? We can still go, the three of us. And I'm sure Josie will be more than happy to get ready with us."
But it was due to Josie's wanting to look more and more like an adult, like anything else. They were five years a part, she was nineteen and Jo' only fourteen. Of course, their parents wouldn't know about their little escapade. But it wasn't as if they were going to be home. Her father was a master chief and her mother, a florist working nighttime these days. Raegan would've lied if she clearly said she wasn't worried about her. However, she waited impatiently to see her every morning before she'd drive to her university. Leaving the room after a sight came from Annabeth's lips, they walked until her car to get inside and drive home. The brunette was beyond happy she won over her friend. After the blonde got inside, she stopped herself frankly from reproducing the same movement as her fingers went instead to her nose to feel a warm liquid coming right from her left nostril. Blood ? She brushed it off with a tissue she had in her pocket, before driving them back to where her house was.
...
In her home, everything was quiet if not for her sister to come downstairs to hug her tightly. At first, she was surprised, but eventually would wrap her up as well with hers. They had to do a quick withdraw from Annabeth's flat to get her dress and come back right away. When Josie saw them both with the bag, she furrowed one of her brows. "What is that for ?" she spoke with her smooth and higher-pitched voice than her sister's. "Well, Tyler's organizing my birthday party at his house." Josie gleaned, taking a step back and looking offended at Raegan's answer. "Nobody told me."
"Well, since the Gilberts passed away... Sure, the spotlight wasn't on that, you know. And, I want to be a paramedic, I didn't even want a party, but he insisted."
Josie sighed soundly. Annabeth doing the exact same.
"Your guy's a douche, but he has definitely a soft spot for you."
"And not only because of your chest." added Annabeth's, jokingly.
She rolled her eyes up, done with their jokes. However, Josie later claimed she was to come with them and that was not part of the discussion, therefore, Raegan silently accepted she'd drive the three of them (as she had thought in the first place) and needed to prepare themselves. Annabeth wore a baby blue dress with white lily flowers on it, her makeup was kept simple with just rhinestones to decorate it and a lip gloss to follow her black eyeliner. Raegan herself was dressed with a dark green jumper, a beige skirt, black thights and knee-high boots with laces. Her long brown hair was kept semi-tied with a hairpin and her makeup was composed of pinkish-brown undertone eye shadow with a lighter skin-shaded one in the inner corners of her eyes. Josie, she, was wearing an asymetrical top with moons and suns all over it, a black skirt to cover the bottom part and thights as well. Her shoes being small heels, whilst her mane was down on her frail shoulders.
