"You want to test me?"

{Nat's POV}

I heard from the door making me whip my head to her. Everyone seemed to do the same. Looking down at the girl. I smiled, taking a few steps forward, she only stepped back.

I was about to explain before Steve jumped in. "We need to know what you're capable of ..."

"Tests will tell you that?" Alyssa questioned in an angry tone.

Steve nodded, again stopping me before I could start. "Yes. Surely you got tested on in that base. It will tell us what they did."

"I did." Alyssa confirmed before looking at me. "You were going to let this happen?"

I knelt down, feeling my heart break slightly as the question. "No. Absolutely not."

Alyssa looked blankly at me as she spoke. "That doesn't matter when it's a man's idea. He could probably convince you at some point anyways."

She had tears in her eyes as she spoke, I could only guess she was imagining being tested on, let alone remembering her past. She was quick to leave after.

Clint held my shoulder, "She'll be okay."

I turned to Steve. "You. You could have just lost me a little. Do you know how important she would be well is to me?" I angrily spoke at Steve, not wanting to shout in case Alyssa was still nearby. Tony had an arm in front of me to prevent me from getting any closer.

"Just imagine if someone put Bucky back into testing. How would you feel then?" I started knowing he would do anything in his power to prevent that happening and I knew Bucky would hit a nerve. I left Steve looking shocked as the others tried to calm me down. "Don't touch me." I stated, as I threw Tony's hand off me.

{No one's POV}

Natasha pondered whether to follow Alyssa to her room or train. Usually she would train to calm herself down but now she was thinking of someone else, she had to if she needed to gain Alyssa's trust again. Natasha took off to her room. Pausing, taking a few deep breaths before knocking and opening her door.

"Alyssa?" Nat called thought out her room.

"Get out," Alyssa simply stated. Natasha pin pointed her voice in the bathroom.

Nat laughed to herself lightly, "This is my room, Lys."

Alyssa didn't respond, the nickname had thrown her thoughts. Natasha tried to open the door but it wouldn't budge. "Hun, let me in." Nat knew Alyssa wasn't strong enough to hold the door with her own body weight and most likely stack things in front of the door.

"No." Alyssa bluntly replied. "I want to be left alone until I can leave, alone."

Natasha sighed to herself. "Alyssa. I just want to help you."

"I don't need your help." Alyssa insists.

Nat sat opposite the door and against her bed. "Not even little you?"

"I'm not a little. That was one time." Alyssa insisted and Nat smiled to herself.

"Being little isn't a one time thing hun." Nat shouts through the door.

"Well, I don't need a caregiver and I don't want to be here." Alyssa stated still denying everything.

"You weren't allowed to little huh?" Nat asks, already knowing the answer.

Alyssa was silent for a second, "How did you know?" Alyssa says just above a whisper.

Nat barely heard her. "Our pasts are very similar."

Alyssa paused not wanting to pry but still needed to know, she felt like if she wouldn't tell her it wasn't true. "Tell me about it, please?"

"Well... I had a sister... We grew up in Ohio before we were separated as I was picked for the red room..."

"The red room?" Alyssa quickly questioned, feeling like she had heard that name before.

Natasha sighed, "It's where I spent most of my life, they trained me for quite a few things.". She spoke honestly.

"What's your sister's name?" Alyssa now asks. She didn't have a sibling, well as far as she knew.

Nat took a second to talk again and Alyssa thought she had pushed too far but in reality Nat had found a picture of them when they were younger. Her sister had the bottom half. "The small blonde, Yelena." Nat took another pause, letting Alyssa interrupt.

"Why do you care? Seriously... others would have thrown me away. Thinking I was disgusting." Alyssa asks, sliding the picture back, this was the top thing on her mind and she needed it answered.

Natasha didn't think this conversation would come so soon and truthfully wasn't prepared for it but she told this was important to Alyssa, and no wonder why. "The red room has a graduation, when your training is complete and you're unbreakable."

Nat paused to wipe a few loose tears, "You don't have to tell me." Alyssa whispers now feeling bad for asking.

"You'll find out sooner or later." Natasha sighed again. "They remove our ovaries as the final step, that way there is no weakness. Love is weakness and a mother's love is the greatest of them all." Alyssa heard the sniffles coming from the older woman and opened the door. She didn't say anything as she sat next to Nat.

"I'm sorry." Alyssa spoke up after a minute with her head on Natasha's shoulder.

Nat shrugged. "That's why I became a caregiver, and have a child that was taken from me. And the best part is they never grow up." Nat smiled at the end slightly whispering as she looked at Alyssa who laughed along. "Now," Nat started again, on a more serious note, "You may not be my little, if that's yet or never, I'm sure I'll find another but I want to care for you either way. And that means protecting you from that big meanie, Steve."

Alyssa smiled when Nat called Steve a big meanie, and she was glad that Natasha was so willing to take after her. Alyssa hoped she wouldn't have to find someone else, she knows Natasha now. She's somewhat comfortable with her and she believes she won't be able to just leave this behind.

Secretly Nat hoped with her whole heart that Alyssa wouldn't want to leave and hoped she would pick to stay. Natasha fell in love with the idea of having her as a little since she laid eyes on her. Even before she was certain Alyssa was a little. But holding her in her arms as she left the building made her heart warm with love.
