cw - dehumanizing insults
Kenma held his breath until he heard the lock click signifying you left, he finally let go of that breath as his face was becoming more and more red and he grew lightheaded.
The truth for him inviting you out to drinks was for him to get to know you more, he was genuinely curious about you and your life.. he just used your work as an excuse. To be fair you did work very well and he appreciated you, but he also appreciate you as a whole.
He always had an eye out for you in High School but since you were in a year younger than him you two never interacted unless you were brought around by Janae to talk to Kuroo, even then. The interactions were short, that didn't mean Kenma wouldn't steal glances at you while he played his games waiting for Kuroo to finish flirting with Janae.
"I still don't know how she even fell for his flirting, it was shit.. even I could've done better..." He mumbled to himself.
He had called Shoyo just a few minutes after you left to come home with him and help him pick an outfit, he also needed him to play designated drive considering he asked you to drink.. Kenma slowly started to feel bad about asking you to go out to drink with him, asking you to eat was enough he could've just kept it simple.
He heard the door click again as he looked up to see his Orange haired friend. "Hey, Shoyo."
Hinata ran behind Kenma's desk and gave him the biggest hug practically pushing Kenma and himself out the chair. "OH KENMA I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!" Hinata cried out loudly.
"You're being loud, Shoyo. You're also messing up my hair." The longer haired male groaned.
"Sorry, anyways tell me about your date tonight.."
Kenma simply pushed the man off of him while staring at him with disgust.
"C'mon don't be boring... It is a date right?" Shoyo was now wiggling his eyebrows.
"No.. I'm just casually taking her out to dinner, that's all. I barely knew her for over a month, I'm not going to randomly ask her out to dinner with me as a date."
"Boring. Anyways, what are you going to wear?"
"I need you to choose that for me actually, so let's go back to my place before you take me to the restaurant. You can also stay over tonight if you'd like so you don't have to drive all the way back."
"It's ok—" Shoyo started but Kenma had cut him off.
"No, it's not. But thank you, Shoyo. Let's go now." Kenma grabbed his keys off his desk walking over to his door and opening it waiting for Hinata to walk through the door so he could lock it behind himself.
"So.. where are you guys going to eat?"
"Genuinely, I haven't decided." Kenma chuckled at his own stupidity.
"What about that Korean Barbecue place, didn't you ask her to drink too? They have Soju I've been there a couple times with the team."
"You're my Angel in disguise, I don't know what I'd do without you." Kenma stated sarcastically.
"No need to be sarcastic about it.. you know it's true, Kozume." Shoyo giggled walking out of the elevator.
Kenma just scoffed loudly but not loud enough to hear, he hated being called Kozume and his friends knew that.
They only did it to purposely piss him off.
