"Going for it."

Before Mapi could question her response, she was surprised to find Jana's lips meet with hers in a soft and low peck, the woman pulled away and gauged out the athlete's reaction—holding her breath, readying herself to run away at the slight rejection that the woman would show.

But, that didn't happen much to Jana's relief, and the blonde grinned widely, reaching her hand upwards to cup her jaw and pull them close again. Once again, their kiss was controlled and slow—relishing in each other's scents after the distance they had put between them over the weeks, until Jana couldn't fight the urge to maintain control.

The kiss quickly turned heated, and her hands made its way on the back of Mapi's neck, deepening their embrace which the athlete welcomed happily and sighed in content.

"Wait..." Jana pulled back, creating distance between the two which caused the blonde's heart to shatter as she instantly thought of the worst, "That woman... Is she your girlfriend?"

Mapi suddenly laughed nervously and scratched the back of her neck, "No, princesa... She's my friend."

"You kiss your friends?" The brunette cringed, but not complaining when Mapi took hold of her hand and intertwined them with hers, smiling at the contact.

"No! I... I was making you jealous. Don't blame me, blame Ale." The athlete childishly blamed, pointing back to the living room where Alexia was watching subtly with a smile on her face, and shook her head when she noticed she had been caught.

"You didn't make me jealous," Jana lied with a roll of her eyes, keeping close to the blonde as her hands were still rested on her hip, her lips were nearly touching her blushing cheek, "But I was told to go for it, and I go for what I want."

Mapi shook her head with a smile, thinking that the sentence sounded familiar—then remembered what she had told the therapist, within the first week of meeting her: I don't stop until I get what I want. Now, it seemed that their roles had reversed, and Jana was the one chasing her.

It made the athlete reflect on their journey so far, and how she appreciated being on the receiving end. Other girls wouldn't fight for her, which ultimately led to heartbreak.

"You're despicable." Mapi recited with a teasing grin, and chuckled when the brunette slapped her shoulder, "What? You're just like me, princesa."

"I shouldn't have said that to you," Jana shook her head, with an apologetic smile on her face and brushed her hands across the woman's toned stomach and up to her shoulders, massaging them slowly while looking into Mapi's eyes, "You're amazing, there's a lot I shouldn't have said."

"And there's a lot I should have done." Mapi whispered, pulling her closer and their lips met once again, igniting a burning feeling inside the two of them.

Jana delved in the moment under the shining sun, as it hit their skin and highlighted the embraced pair above the city. It wasn't until they were torn apart when a knock on the balcony door pulled them away, jumping out of shock.

"Sorry..." Rose nervously glanced between the two, still drunk yet with a growing smile on her expression as she understood what was happening between the athlete and her friend, "Everyone is asking where the two of you are."

Mapi nodded with a roll of her eyes, dragging a disappointed Jana behind her back into the living room, welcomed by whoops and cheers from her team mates who were unaware of what had happened, but were excited to see the two regardless.

"Mapi, amiga, come dance." Bruna appeared with a large grin on her face, pulling the blonde away from Jana who tried to reach forward but watched as Mapi was dragged away to dance.

The therapist was left alongside Alexia and Ingrid, the captain suddenly appearing at her side with a smug expression while the tall brunette nudged Jana with a knowing smirk, "Going to tell us what happened?"

"In your dreams, Engen."

The door to Mapi's apartment swung open, and the two figures appeared in the doorway latched on to one another, while the blonde was drunk under her friends' bad influence, Jana was struggling to keep the athlete upright.

"Use your feet, Bonita." The therapist gritted, then huffed as she saved Mapi from falling forward on her face—sucking in an air of breath as the blonde wrapped her arms around her neck, breathing against her neck which sent a shiver down Jana's spine, "Point me to your room."

"Down the hall. To the left." Mapi whispered in a jagged breaths, her lips slightly touching the tanned skin and brushing them across the brunette's neck, noticing how she stopped breathing at the contact, "Am I making you nervous, princesa?"

"You're..." Jana was cut off when Mapi's lips pressed against her neck, causing her to groan as she tried to navigate her way through the athlete's apartment, pushing the bedroom door open, "You're drunk."

Then, she pushed Mapi back onto the bed, causing the intoxicated woman to smirk as she thought something else would happen, confusion apparent across her face when Jana sat on the opposite end of the bed, "¿Qué?"

Mapi crawled across the bed and wrapped her arms around the therapist from behind, hanging off of the side of her shoulder to angle her lips to the side of Jana's face, smiling when she saw the brunette blush.

"You're drunk, León."

She stated, ignoring how the drunken athlete groaned then wrapped her arms tighter around Jana, causing the woman to laugh at her antics, "I'm not..."

"Just one kiss. That's it." Jana strictly ordered, watching the blonde nod and lean in slowly, keeping her dilated eyes trained onto her lips.

The room felt smaller as they got closer, their bodies pressed against each other and Jana grinned when their lips met, she felt Mapi smile against her's as the athlete deepened the kiss.

When Jana attempted to pull away, she once again heard Mapi protest at this and grab hold of the brunette on either side of her hips, pulling them backwards so that they were laid on their backs on the bed. Quiet giggles left the two women, as the therapist was in slight shock over what had just happened.

Jana was planted on top of Mapi, staring down at the smiling blonde who stared in adoration, "What are you staring at?"

"What does it look like?" The blonde slurred, reaching her hand up to rest against Jana's cheek before it fell back down to her side, "You're beautiful."

The therapist had almost cried in that moment, finding that no one had ever told her that in such an earnest and genuine way.

Wordlessly, Jana lowered herself and laid her head onto Mapi's chest, listening to the athlete's heartbeat that eventually slowed down and snores filled the room's silence instead.

"Goodnight..."

In the silence, Jana María Flores found peace. How long would it be till it was interrupted?
