I wasn't kidding when I said that monster was going to chase us because that's what was currently happening. I could feel Serenity's tail and arms wrap around my body desperately trying to cling on. His head was buried against my neck. Merfolk and there delicacies, I thought. They were so fragile! I don't even know for how long I swam. The ocean's darkness limited my view but I by the time I knew it I heard a sound of a monsters cry. It meant that my attack quadrant has noticed the monster. I heard at the monster let out a horrid screech. Senti-monsters... killed Serenity's pack. I wonder if it was that monster we ran into. Oh don't be stupid. That's were I found Serenity so that must be the senti-monster. I thought.
I dashed towards the outer most part of our home. The merman was nearly out as I continued to swim. When I reached our destination, I shook him off of me.
"There." I said. He pushed himself off as he positioned himself properly, "You may leave now. We can't have strangers in our pack."
"Uh- Thank you very much!" He said, "it's customary for Merfolk to gift creatures, who help them, a shell." He plucked one off his sea-shell belt-thing. Whatever it was! He plucked one out and handed it to me. My face was left somewhat tense. Some heat rushed to my face as I accepted the shell. It was a light pink, color and if I remember, I think it was lion's paw scallop. It fitted him.
He did a slight head bow before going on his merry way. I paused. I just floated there. I didn't know what to do, so I just stayed there. Watching him to make sure he wouldn't hurt himself.

Days that had passed since I had met that lovely mer. His image was still engraved into my head. Surely, I would've thought that Mer would no longer linger in my head. How incorrect was I.
"Siren." I heard be called out. I swim out my dwelling and was met with my tribes head. Chuck, he was a great head and all but word had spread saying that he was thinking of retiring. I couldn't comprehend why. He was the most important facet to our pack and not only was he too young to retire. He was like my father so to see him want to retire was so unlikely.
"Hi." I replied.
He flashed me a smile, "I came to talk to you about the packs future." I nodded.
"What about the packs future? Is something wrong?" I asked. His smile faltered as he gave a small nod.
"Humans have been seen lurking in our waters." He said, "I've been communicating with the other packs, the Aqutiti Tribe said that some of their pups have been mysteriously disappearing. They blame the Humans." I nodded. He continued, "I've been thinking of getting the attack squad to..."

He was something else. Such the kindest Siren I have met and the only. I couldn't stop thinking of him. He was so selfless and brave. His pale skin was apologized by his thick muscles and defined abs. I blushed, I should stop thinking about him.I circled around the water not knowing what to do. As much as I should have I couldn't bring myself to leave the location. I was a good distant from the main clan of Siren, but I was still able to reach there. I had no where else to be. They were all dead. I bit my lip and shut my eyes. I shouldn't be thinking of them. They hated it when I cried. I rubbed my eyes. I swam back to the near by cave that I lived in the meantime.
I minded my business until I heard the sound of a distressed mother.
"Sweetie, don't go near there you don't know what is lurking." She cried. A young pup seemed to not heed his mother's words as he continued to speed down the water. I moved swiftly, facing the entrance. I was shocked when I was met with the young pup. He screeched. I frowned, I wasn't scary, was I? I heard his mother make a screech-like sound before bolting towards her child. She scooped him in her arms before flaring her gills and baring her teeth. Hisses escaped her lips. I was taken aback. Fear rolled into my eyes as I saw her body shift and grow gradually. Her tan-ish skin began to change color to a deep blue and her teeth became sharper then they were already. Her hair seemed to mess and her eyes began to whiten giving a glowing effect.
