𝐒𝟐;𝐄𝐏𝟏𝟑
As I stood outside of the hospital, I thought, " This is it. This is finally happening ". A few people pushed past me so I started making my way inside the hospital. It took a few tries asking people were Chief Webbers office was but I finally made it there. As I knocked on the door, Chief Webber welcomed me in. There was another man sitting on a chair in his office already so I thought maybe it wasn't a good time to talk.
" Dr. Taylor, come in ", Chief Webber told me as I sat down in the chair next to the other man. " Dr. Taylor, I'd like you to meet Dr. Shepherd. He will be showing you around the hospital today"
" Thank you, Chief. I couldn't thank you enough ", I said as we all got up from our seats and I shook the Chiefs hand.
" Derek Shepherd ", the man said to me as we started making our way out of the Chiefs office.
" Madison Taylor ", I said to him and shook his hand as he was sticking his hand out to me.
" What brings you here? ", Derek asked me as we walked through the halls.
" I got the head of trauma job here ", I said to him as we stopped to get my pager and a few pairs of scrubs I would be needing.
" Yeah, I heard about that ", He said to me as we walked down to the locker room where all the attending's put their stuff.
" What about you what do you do? ", I asked as I went into the bathroom to change really quickly.
" I'm the head of neuro ", He said to me as I walked out of the bathroom fixing my hair. " That color looks great on you "
" Thanks ", I said to him clipping my pager to my waistband.
" So tell me, where were you before you came here ", Derek asked her as they walked back out into the hall.
" I went to Northwestern In Chicago for med school, and I went to Northwestern Memorial for my intern and resident years ", I said.
" Oh, nice ", Derek said.
We continued walking until Derek came to a stop to talk to someone.
He was talking to another man and he had the same scrubs on as me and Derek.
" Yeah, I'm just giving her a tour of the hospital ", Derek told the man.
" Preston Burke, head of cardio ", He said as he held his hand out.
" Madison Taylor, I'm the new head of trauma", I said as I shook his hand.
" Well I have a surgery to get to. It was nice meeting you ", He said to me as he rushed off.
" So, what did you do for New Year's? ", Derek said changing the subject as we continued walking to the lobby for the Chiefs meeting.
" Nothing really big, just moving in honestly ", I told him as we got to the lobby.
