" Dr. Shepherd ", Burke spoke opening the O.R. door.

" Dr. Burke ", Derek exclaimed looking up.

" How's it going? ", Burke asked.

" He's got a second bleed under the skull base. If I do what the textbooks say, he could lose the power of speech, herniate through the first craniotomy and die ", Derek explained as he continued working on Dr. Bailey's husband.

" What's your other option ? ", Burke asked.

" Well, if I do what I want to do, he could lose the power of speech, herniate through the first craniotomy and die ", Derek repeated.

" Yeah, well, good luck with that ", Burke told him.

" Thanks ", Derek said to Burke handing his tools to his assistant. " Is there something you want? "

" You know, it was really stupid of you not to evacuate ", Burke spoke.

" Hmm. You too ", Derek replied.

" Yeah, I know "

" We should consider a change of profession ", Derek suggested.

" Yes, we should "

" Now, can you operate and, uh, remove the device from the guy? " Derek asked.

" After the bomb squad is through assessing him, I'm going to try ", Burke explained.

" Gotta say, don't want to be the guy that kills Bailey's husband ", Derek spoke.

" I don't want to be the guy that kills us all ", Burke fired back making Derek look up. " Dr. Shepherd "

" It was, Madison. Incredibly stupid ", Christina said pumping the ambu bag.

" Ok, this really isn't the time to be made fun of. I have my hand inside of a body, with a bomb in it, and a stranger velcroing a flax jacket to my chest ", I fire back.

" Okay, okay ", Christina said sighing.

" You have a sense of irony ", Dylan told me as he was velcroing my jacket.

" Only when things are really ironic. You know, I had a feeling ", I said as Meredith and Cristina looked at me.

" Time for you to go ", Burke told Cristina and Meredith as he walked into the room.
