Ciel's Little Sister (Remake)

Chapter 7

Rose opened her eyes the next morning to Sebastian opening her curtains as always.

"Good morning my lady," Sebastian smiles

"Is it already morning?" Rose asks 

"Yes," Sebastian made his way over to her and put his hand on her forehead "Are you feeling alright?"

"Yes," Rose sat up in bed and removed Sebastian's hand "How is Ciel?"

"The young master is as ready as he'll ever be," Sebastian replies "but I am asking about you, not him."

"I felt an emotion I didn't know I could feel," Rose replies looking down "for a women I barely remember.. so what does that make me?"

"A little more human then the rest of us," Sebastian puts his hand under her chin and tilts her head up to look at him "and there's no shame in that my dear."

Rose nods as Sebastian removes his hand.

"We shall be leaving soon," Sebastian tells her as he heads to the door "Mey-Rin will be here soon."

Rose glances at the dress he left for her as he shut the door behind him.

The doors of the church swung open, there stood Sebastian and Ciel all in black. Next to them stood Rose in a red dress. Everyone turned to look at them, Ciel was holding one of Madam Red's red dresses.

They walked up and Ciel placed the red dress over Madam Red "You know, white flowers and subdued clothes do not suit you."

"You were right," Rose spoke "what suites us, is red."

Rose petals fell down all around them as the siblings looked at their aunt.

"Good night" Ciel sighed "Madam Red"

After the funeral the siblings, Sebastian, and Lau stood at the grave.

"you did not inform the Queen of Jack the Ripper's true identity?" Lau questioned

"I did not think it necessary" Ciel told him

"Jack the Ripper is no longer in London" Rose says "that's all that matters" she turns around and walks back to the carriage.

A few weeks had passed since the funeral, business proceeded as usual. Rose and Ciel took the time out of their busy schedules to play chess together occasionally and of course meals. Rose was very persistent on making sure her big brother didn't skip any.

Rose opened her eyes and sat up in bed, she would usually lay in bed until Sebastian told her it was morning. Today however, he seemed to have forgotten. Rose opened her door to see Mey-Rin rushing past.

"Mey-Rin," Rose called out to her

"Ah!" Mey-Rin jumped and almost dropped the towels she was holding, she turned to see her young miss in her night attire, staring out at her "Goodness Miss you almost gave me a heart attack, what are you still doing in your night wear?"

"Nobody got me- I mean awoke me," Rose corrected herself

"Goodness," Mey-Rin put her towels down quickly "today's the young master's 13th birthday! We must get you ready, he went out with Lady Elizabeth not long ago."

"Today is Ciel's birthday?" Rose asks as she moved aside for Mey-Rin to enter her room.

"I know you're a bit forgetful my lady so do not worry if you didn't get him anything," Mey-Rin smiles "Oh- why don't you give him a smile today? It's been so long since you have, he would be delighted."

"A smile?" Rose questioned

"Yes yes," Mey-Rin replies happily

"Hm," Rose thinks to herself as Mey-Rin rushes to find her a dress

Rose stood with the servants in front of the table filled with food and a cake for Ciel's birthday. Soon Ciel, Sebastian, Marchioness Middleford, and Elizabeth entered the house.

"Welcome back!" All the servants shout

"Happy birthday Ciel," Rose says after them

"Thank you," Ciel responds looking surprised

"Rose!" Lizzy ran over and hugged her

"Elizabeth careful," Ciel panicked

"Don't strange the poor girl," Marchioness Middleford sighs

"It's alright," Rose says turning to Elizabeth "It's good to see her."

"Aw you're still speaking like that," Lizzy looks saddened "you're monotone as always."

"Elizabeth that's rude!" Marchioness Middleford lectures before looking at Rose "please forgive her dear."

"It's fine really," Rose says "I don't mind, I like that she can speak her mind."

Marchioness Middleford turns to Ciel before whispering "She really isn't getting better is she? Have you tried taking her to a doctor?"

"I do not wish to force her," Ciel replies "please forgive us Marchioness Middleford."

"I only say it because I am worried," Marchioness Middleford says

"Big brother," Rose turns to Ciel "the servants made a cake."

"I see that," Ciel nods

"Well, they are actually one step quicker than me.. I came here specially today just for the sake of saying this" Marchlioness Middleford walked over and placed a hand on top of Ciel's head "Happy 13th Birthday Ciel" she turned and looked at the servants "And also everyone, I'll be counting on all of you to take care of my daughter and her husband in the future."

Everyone smiled and Ciel smiled as well "thank you everyone, very much."

"Let's all party today!" Finny shouts

"Free Wine!" Bard shouts

Everyone gathered and started getting food as Rose stared at all of them.

"Is something the matter?" Sebastian whispered to her, as he leaned down.

"I wanted.." Rose trailed off "You all seem to smile so easily.. even if yours is fake."

"I suppose it is.. a trait of humans," Sebastian responds carefully "You were like them before you know. Emotions are not beneath you nor is it above you. Simply do as you please, I surely will not look down on you for it. You have smiled before, it should just as easy to do again."

"Rosie," Ciel sat beside her "thank you."

"They did it on their own," Rose replied "I simply showed up."

"It is something I still apricate," Ciel tells her "I do not wish to spend another alone."

"I see.." Rose says

Ciel pats her head as he looks over at the servants pouring wine.

"Ciel," Rose called out

"Yes?" Ciel turns to her

"Truly," Rose genuinely smiles "Happy Birthday."

Ciel's eye teared up and he quickly wiped it. The servants took notice and rushed to him.

"Young master are you alright?"

"Ciel what's wrong?" Elizabeth asks worried

"I'm sorry," Rose grabs his hand "I did not mean to upset you."

"You didn't," Ciel turns to her with a smile, holding onto her hand "thank you Rosie."
