Ciel played chess with Madam Red while Sebastian was playing with Rose.
"You win again, my lady," Sebastian smiles
"Is that simply because I'm good, or are you letting me win?" Rose asks
"Whatever do you mean?" Sebastian questions "Surely I am simply outmatched."
"Liar," Rose mutters before turning her attention to Madam Red
"Now surely there must've been... another way for you and Rosie to live, one that didn't involve you becoming the underworlds watchdog" Madam Red says with concern "I'm certain my elder sister- your mother- would've wished for it too. Despite that, here you two are... have you returned to the underworld... because you wish to avenge my murdered sister and her husband?"
Ciel just stared at her
"Neither my sister and brother-in-law, nor Lizzy and I, would want that for you two," Madam Red continued.
"I have never once thought to avenge my parents or anything of the sort, we're I to evenge them the dead still would not come back to life, much less be able to enjoy the sweet taste of revenge" Ciel replies "calling it vengeance or a battle of revenge, such utterances amount to nothing more than the selfishness of the survivors after all, a luxury of the living wouldn't you say?"
Madam Red looked down "Yes, but-"
"I did not returned to Phantomhive for the sake of the previous head, I returned for myself and for my sister" Ciel stood up "all i want is to give those who betrayed and defiled the name of Phantomhive a taste of the humiliation and pain that I suffered."
Ciel placed his king down "checkmate"
"That makes forty-six losses in a row for me" Madam Red sighs "you've always been good at this kind of thing, and I've been losing to you since way back when. I remember when you and your sister were born, you were both so tiny and precious, and I felt like I had to protect you two."
"Though in the end I couldn't bear any children of my own, to me you two are like my children" Madam Red placed her hand on top of Ciel's head "And as a mother to her children, I want you and your sister to wash your hands of the underworld."
Ciel moved her hand away "Me and Rose are here now because we wished for it, we made the choice and I have no regrets. So I do not wish to depend on anyone and I will protect my sister." Ciel kissed her on the cheek "now if you excuse me it's been fun Aunt, but it's late"
Madam Red smiles "I won't lose next time... Ciel"
"Good Night" Ciel smiles before turning to Rose "Let us be off."
Rose stood up from her chair, glaring at Sebastian before following her brother. A couple hours later they were awoken by the door opening.
"Sorry to wake you master's" Sebastian apologized as he walked in
"What is it?" Rose asks as she rubbed her eyes
"No matter how many times i simulate the events, only the viscount could have been involved in this string of murders" Sebastian told them
"So we have to alter our search conditions? The viscount couldn't have been involved in yesterday's murder" Ciel says
"Yes true, it would have been impossible for any of the persons here were at the viscount's residents" Sebastian agrees
"If we're simply looking for a person you mean?" Rose questions
Ciel looked at her "you don't mean.."
"Possibly" Rose yawns "what do you think brother?"
Ciel looked at Sebastian "So it was impossible for a person who was there? Now I see you bastard."
Sebastian smirks "By your order, I your chessman, shall become your sword. Now let us move into check, my young masters."

Sebastian, Ciel, and Rose stood outside buildings in an alleyway out in the cold.
"It's cold" Ciel says, shivering.
"Yes I suppose your new clothes would make you cold" Sebastian replies "your usual attire would make you stand out too much here"
"You're certain he'll make an appearance if we keep watch here right?" Ciel questions
"Yes, that is the only entrance, and this is the only path that leads to it" Sebastian replies
"And you're positive the next target will be Mary Kelly, who lives in that tenement?" Ciel asks Rose
"Most likely" Rose replies
"That's not a good answer" Ciel sighs "now what-"
They hear a scream.
"wha- but no one entered the room!" Ciel shouted confused
"Let's go" Sebastian says
The three run over, Ciel opens up the room, it was covered in blood..
"You must not look" Sebastian commands covering both Ciel and Rose's eyes
Ciel was shaking while Rose was holding onto his hand.
Sebastian looked up "you have made quite the mess of things Jack the Ripper, or should I say, Grell Sutcliff"
"N-No this is... I rushed in there because I heard the screams but she was already-"
"Already what? We have been keeping an eye on the sole path here all night. How in the world did you manage to enter that rom at the end of this blind alley and evade us?" Sebastian questions "Do you really plan to feign innocence looking as you do? This is my first time meeting someone of your ilk in the human world. You did a splendid job acting like one of them."
Grell started laughing "Is that so, you hit the nail on the head, you did. I am an actress and a first rate one at that, but neither are you Sebastian, yes?"
"My young masters gave me that name so yes I am Sebastian for now" Sebastian replies "I have been living for quite some time, but i have never head of someone of your ilk being a butler, one who is supposed to stand neutral between god and humans, a grim reaper."
"I suppose you could say I fell head over heels for a woman" Grell says
Sebastian narrowed his eyes "and that woman is-"
"Whether you hear him out or not I think you already know, Sebastian" Madam Red's voice was heard
Ciel moved Sebastian's hand away from his eyes "Madam"
Rose moves Sebastian's hand as well but Ciel moved his hand in front of her eyes.
"I miscalculated. I never imagined there would also be someone by Ciel's side who could see through Grell's disguise" Madam Red says
"Madam was of course on our initial list of suspects, but your alibi was flawless" Ciel tells her
"How could you Ciel, you went as far as to doubt me, your dear aunt?" Madam Red questions
"No human, on the list of suspects could have committed all the murders. Of course that includes you, Madam. But it is a different story with a reaper as your accomplice if he can enter Mary's room in an instant without us noticing he would also be capable of instantly transporting
himself over the lengthy distance between the west end and the east end and if a servant were to disappear for a matter of minutes no one would pay any heed. Therefore only the two of you can be Jack the Ripper" Ciel explains
"How sad, my lovely nephew and niece, my elder sisters son and daughter, if you hadn't insisted on getting to the bottom of all this, we might've played chess again, however..." Madam Red turned angry "I will not yield this time!"
Grell pulled out his death scythe which looks like a chainsaw and went to attack them, Sebastian jumped in front and held him back. Ciel wrapped his arms around Rose and pulled her back.
"Don't look inside the building and stay behind me" Ciel instructs "you will not intervene."
Ciel took off the bandage covering his eye "In the name of the queen and our own evil title, I command you Sebastian, hunt them down!"
Sebastian smirks "Yes, my lord."
