The night was shorter than the day, you deduced. The heat that Dressrosa provided wasn't bad, but it was a little uncomfortable. The way you were starting to sweat from places you didn't normally sweat from was getting annoying.

Even if December was in full blast- it was blistering hot.

Regardless of what you felt of the heat- you loved it. You were counting on working up a nice tan for when you go back from this work trip and you have bought all your holiday presents here too!

Right now- you were in the cozy temperature of 72 degrees Fahrenheit. The meetings have been overly productive and the client has been nothing but hospitable.

You were in your room, getting out of the bathroom when you heard a knock on your door. After looking through the peephole you opened the door, allowing Eustass Kid and the recently acquainted Trafalgar Law come inside. You also saw the familiar face of Killer waving outside and leaving. He had also joined Kid while in his little 'business trip'. This helped in keeping all the attention on Kid while Killer was out doing research for your particular problem.

"Eh, hi?"

"Miss (L/N), good to see you again."

"Likewise...Law, was it?"

You received a nod from the man that Eustass Kid had the disdain to know. His pale citrine eyes were, in a sense, lifeless as he looked at you with more detail.

"You haven't slept well in weeks, have you?"

You nodded as Law gave you an inspection.

"He's a doctor, Sweetheart. He gets a little more creepy once you know what he is." Kid explained, laying down on your bed as Law took out some equipment from the bag he brought with him.

"We're going to assess your physical health first. I want to put aside any chronic, hereditary and/or work-related symptoms. That way we can target our BoogieMan better."

You felt like you were back at the Doctors office for a yearly physical.

It felt like hours passed as Law did his diagnostic.

He did a complete physical on you and you could see Eustass' eyes never leaving your form for a moment. Every twitch, sigh and grunt you gave the black haired man? He saw it.

He also saw how you flinched when Law pressed his hand against your belly. This earned a cocked eyebrow from the normally serious doctor.

"Physical or emotional?"

"E-Emotional..." you could feel how Law retracted his hands.

"I'm done here. I got the cause. If I'm assuming correctly...you either had an abortion or a miscarriage. This may have been cause for the Boogie Man to latch itself onto you, Miss (L/N)." Law said as he sat down on the bed, thinking about how to tackle this.

"Can I go to the bathroom for a moment?" You whispered, feeling dread run up your spine as you saw Law nod, running to the bathroom and concealing yourself there.

Trying to calm down.

Meanwhile Law and Eustass were trying to deduce cause and effect.

"You got whatcha needed?"

"Unfortunately, yes. But this makes matters a little more tricky. I'll make sure to let Strawhat-Ya know. I may know who it is but I need our resident ape to certify it's him."

"Him?"

Both men turned their heads towards you, eyes a little puffy and nose a little red.

"Yeah. I'll let you know who it is until I'm 100% sure it's him." Law said, rising up from his seat in the bed and getting ready to leave. "I'll keep in touch with you, Miss. Eustass-ya, come see me after you get back home. Bring our damsel in distress along with you."
