Chapter One: Letters from Hogwarts

Liam slept peacefully in his room, and sleepy thoughts accompanied him until morning. However, his sleep was interrupted by the unexpected intrusion of Rose, his twin sister, who was eleven years old at the same time. Rose ran into the room and rushed towards her brother's bed.

"Li, get up! Mum and Dad are waiting for us for breakfast!" she called out, shaking Liam by the shoulder. Liam started to wake up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"What are you talking about there, Rose? Is it still the middle of the night?" replied Liam sleepily, trying to cover himself with a blanket.

Rose smiled broadly, ignoring his sleepiness. "GET UP!"

Liam slowly opened his eyes and noticed that his sister was sacching in front of his bed. He sighed deeply and got out of bed, rubbing his eyes. "Okay, okay, I'm coming. You don't have to shout like that."

His sister walked ahead, leaving Liam's room, and he followed her into the kitchen. Their parents, Tara and Jim, were sitting at the table, eating breakfast.

"Who's up," said Dad, feeding Charles.

"Sit down we need to talk to you all!" said Mum seriously, to which Liam sat down next to Rose. The two siblings exchanged glances with Thomas their older brother, who was just as entranced as they were.

"We've got letters from Hogwarts," Mum explained with joy in her eyes. "You two," she said pointing to Rose and Liam. "You've been invited to the School of Magic and Wizardry!" She added after a moment giving them their letters.

Liam and Rose blinked in amazement, not knowing what to answer. Thomas, the older brother, looked at them surprised. "Wait, that's them," muttered Thomas pointing at his siblings. "Can they do magic?" added a confused Thomas.

"Yes, they can," replied Tara. "But ordinary people aren't allowed to talk about the wizarding world" added their dad Jim who pauses at them with a smile.

Liam and Rose opened their letters and began to read. After a while Mum stood behind them "Oh they will need shopping in Diagon Alley." Mum said.

Liam looked at the list contained in the second letter.

HOGWARTS SCHOOL of  WITCHCRAFT and  WIZARDRY

First-year students will require:1. Three sets of plain work (black)2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear3. One pair of protective gloves ( hide or similar)4. One winter cloak (black, with silver fastenings)Please note that all pupil's clothes should carry name tags.

"What Diagon Alley? Where is it?" Rose asked, looking through the list of items needed.

"Uhh you'll see..." said Dad, also pacing the list of things to buy. "But that's in its own time for now eat breakfast" He said Going back to eating. Meanwhile Thomas who was still working out what had just happened, Rose and Liam started eating breakfast.

After a while, when everyone had eaten and got dressed, Mum was telling them how to use the Fiuu powder. "When you are in the fireplace you say the target spot loud and clear. In our case Diagon Alley. Elbows by your side and no stress." Said their Mum.

"Okay... Diagon Alley" Said Liam while in the fireplace moving to Diagon Alley. After a while he saw his siotre and Mum, along with Dad, Charles and Thomas.

"Well we're splitting up! I'm going with Rose and Liam to get the wands. Thomas you get the pets, Dad and Charli you get the books. All clear?" asked Mum. To which everyone nodded their heads. Rose and Liam headed for the Ollivander's Shop.

Rose entered Ollivander's shop with her mother and Liam. She had an important challenge ahead of her - to choose her first wand. There was a mysterious atmosphere inside the shop and the shelves full of wands seemed to whisper quietly.

Ollivander approached Rose with a smile. He was an older man with white hair and grey eyes who seemed to know every wand in his shop.

Ollivander stepped behind the counter with a smile, "Welcome new wizards!" He looked at Rose and took the box. He opened it about handed Rose a wand. "Try this one out." He said nodding.Rose flicked the wand overturning the lapa standing next to it. Liam couldn't help but laugh while Tara paused horrified. "I'm sorry," Rose said unsmilingly. Ollivander looked at her "This one won't, wait!" The older man replied, taking the wand from Rose's hands and went to get another box. He opened the box and took out a wand "This one should be fine" Ollivander said. Rose looked uncertainly at Mame and her brother. And she took the wand. Rose felt that this was the one. Ollivander smiled then looked at the boy. "Time for you to go" He said walking behind the counter pulling out his wand and handing it to Liam. Liam swung but the wand knocked the papers off the desk. Liam immediately put down, the wand and looked apologetically at Ollivander. Who quickly went to get another wand "Ash, 11 inches and a hair from a unicorn's tail" He said giving Liam the wand. Liam waved but it set a nearby shelf on fire.

Ollivander immediately reacted by putting out a shelf. Ollivander wordlessly disappeared into the shelves in the back room. Liam turned and looked at Mame and Rose. Rose giggled slightly but Mame had her face in her hands. Liam scratched the back of his head and muttered "Sorry, I didn't mean to...".

Suddenly Ollivander returned "Riddle.... that should have been the answer." He said, glaring at Liam who was glaring at the wand the old man was using. "Here's a wand of oak, 12 inches and a half, phoenix feather, flexible.... Please don't set anything on fire again" He said with a smile.Liam grabbed the wand and felt the power engulf him, the whole shop was filled with a warm glow. Liam looked at Ollivander with a smile.

Tara looked at her children proudly "Thank you sir!" She said waving to Ollivander and walking out of the shop.

As Liam walked along with Rose and Mum they saw Tate with his books, and Thomas who was eating something. Liam seriously wondered if he had ever seen him without food before. Dad spotted them "Do you have wands?", to which the children cheerfully nodded their heads.

"I see books... But a pet... Thomas!" Shouted Mum drawing the attention of several passers-by. Thomas looked at her puzzled.

Thomas swallowed the leftover food, then replied, "Calm down! I'll go and get it right away. The Lord said he had to wash him!" waving his hands. Mum sent him a look that spoke for itself.

"Okay! I'm coming to get him now!" He said after which he turned and went. Liam and Rose waited with Dad and Charles for Thomas while their Mum went quickly to get his robes and the rest of his things.

Liam noticed a very large man leading a small boy. Dad lightly patted his son on the shoulder "You mustn't stare." he said. Liam furrowed his brow, he was about to say something but was interrupted by Thomas.

"You see! I said I got a pet. It said on the letter that it might be a cat!" Said Thomas holding up a snow-grey cat. Rose immediately went to play with the Cat. Liam just laughed. After which their mum came over.

"Well... We got everything?" She said taking Charles in her arms. " Then we're going home!" She said and started walking at which the whole family followed her.
