Before you read . . . This book partially takes place during WWII, which means there's gun and alcohol use involved. The book won't really get any more intense than Captain America First Avenger.
Briar Barnes and Dmitri Hart are characters I have been developing for more than past two years (around the time my Marvel obsession began).
I've even gone so far as to create an actress for Briar, named Anya Natalia Abernathy, whose life I've been writing and fleshing out for the past year and a half, creating a time line that goes from her birth in 1997, to her 30th birthday.
