The frightened hazel eyes appeared in the middle of the darkness, accompanied by the light whisper of the piano notes that enveloped him in a deep sleep.

Mélodie...

It seemed like he was frozen in time, where the memories of that night repeated themselves over and over again, hazy in the form of a dream.

Mélodie...

"Mélodie!"

He woke up with a start, sitting up in bed, breathing heavily and his heart pounding in his chest. He blinked his eyes a few times and looked around him, recognizing the environment where he was. It was the attic, close to sunrise. The room was silent, the only noise that hung in the air was the calm and sleepy breathing of his platinum friend, who was sleeping in the upper bed.Gradually feeling the despair of awakening disappear, he felt his head dizzy and his eyes still heavy. In an attempt to compose himself, he placed his head against the cold surface of the wall, feeling his body still dominated by drowsiness.

Fighting the feeling, he rubbed his face with his hands and ran his fingertips through his hair. Why did you do this, Mélodie? Why are you always running away from everything and everyone? A frustrated sigh left his lips and he looked out the window, his gaze lost in his thoughts, as he watched the faint rays of the sunrise, which would soon return to hiding shyly beyond the horizon, giving way again. at night.

However, Madam's tense and threatening conversation in front of Yuki couldn't get out of his head. Who else would she have threatened in that world? Who are they? And, why was Mélodie the "exotic attraction" of her business?

So many questions bombarded him at that moment when he had fallen into reality, while his mind delved into memories that seemed like a mere dream from the previous night. As much as he wanted to forget his daydreams, his mind only remembered the feeling of the hug he had offered her when Mélodie was in a silent collapse.

His hands closed into fists and his eyes narrowed in pain, remembering the pain that was so clear on her face, in her hazel irises and in her hands that were shaking and wet with cold sweat. An unconscious fury lit up in his heart, strengthening his desire to discover the whole truth behind the mysterious world of Elunaria, where, in his eyes, the pianist was also a lost heart, like all those who were puppets in Madam Edergard's hands.

With his emotions running high, he stood up and rolled up his sleeves, trying to cool off from the heat of his anger. He quickly and silently left the attic and went down the steps, heading towards the empty hall. The warm orange lights were already on.

Alone, there was Yuki sitting at the counter, circling the glassy circumference of the rim of his whiskey glass with his fingertips. His expression was blank and haggard, his posture slumped and leaning against the bar counter, his shoulders hunched towards his chest.

Even though he heard Ludwig's footsteps, he didn't look up, continuing to concentrate on his anxious and desperate daydreams that screamed in his head, begging for help, remembering every moment the killer blue eyes that surrounded him like prey, proclaiming his sentence. of death if the price was not paid.

"Why when we least expect it... Life turns us upside down?" The Japanese man's deep voice echoed throughout the room.

Ludwig was left without a response to Yuki's unexpected speech, who was crestfallen, a short distance away from the drink. His figure appeared sinister and brooding against the orange light of the chandeliers.

"When I entered this world, even without my will, I wanted to grab this chance to start again." He lifted the glass and spun it, watching the rays of light that burst into the translucent drink. "However, it seems that they stole control over my life... And that at every moment they are going to crush it like a simple insect."
