Higher ground and a call

As sage runs up the stairs she picks up her crying daughter while grabbing her husband's hand as they run up to high ground as the first level was wiped out.

Once they were up on a higher level sage finally lets out a breath she was holding as she holds her daughter close to her who was crying as she was trying to calm her down the building they are naw trapped in is shown as water continues to flood the city as lighting and thunder roar through the sky.

She rocks her daughter side to side before looking over at her little brother "can you hold her for a moment while I check on my brother."she asked her husband handing Jamie over to Nathan before walk over to her brother.

"Sam are you guys okay"she asked as Sam turns and looks at her coldy "yeah we're fine"he says harshly making his friends look confused.

Tears build in her eyes as she slightly nods her head before walking off back to her husband and daughter."I need you to stay with her I need to contact my dad the second level hasn't been fully flooded I'll be back i promise"she says kissing her husband before walking off as Sam watches from a distance.

She holds her coat close as she comes up to the stairs closes by the phones as she jumps when Sam's voice is heard"how come you never told me you had a daughter that I had a neic"he asked from behind her.

"When was I supposed to tell you last I check you hated me and blamed me for the stress on Mom and Dad's marriage "she says before taking her coat of as she carefully steps into the water with a gasp as she wades over to the phone putting in some change breathing hard as she dials her parents number.

It rings a fe times before it was answered "sage"her father's voice is heard as she lets out a tearful laugh "yeah dad its me. Me, Sam,his friends, Jamie and Nathan are all alright but listen we're at the public library in New York the water is freezing and rising"she says as the water was slowly rising.

"Sage it's mom I'm so glad y'all are safe don't worry we or your father we'll come and get y'all just stay safe and warm"her mother says tearful.

The water was rising quickly"we will mom I love y'all"sage says with a gasp as Sam and Laura watch with wide eyes as the water consumes her as they waited with a baited breath.

Sage soon breaks through the freezing water with a gasp as she swims towards the stairs as Sam and Laura help her out of the water as she breaths hard "thank you"she says shivering before soon they make there ways back to the others.
