"Mrs. Helen? Where we going?" I asked sitting in the car.

"It's a surprise!" She told me as she got in.

"But I want know!"

"Okay, well, I think you'll like it and that you will have fun."

"That not what we do."

"It goes with Christmas."

"Oh. Where that?."

"You will know soon."

I pulled into the mall and lead Kai inside. I brought him over to Santa Claus where, to my surprise, their was no line. I guess this is one of the perks of going shopping early Monday morning

"Hello there!" The Santa Claus greeted as an "elf" lead Kai to sit in Santa's lap.

Kai sat there staring for the longest time, ignoring every question asked.

"What's your name?" Santa asked again for the 4th time.

"Kai." He eventually said; it's so surprising he isn't talking, Kai is usually so social.

"Well Kai, how old are you?"

"I'm 3."

"Wow, you're a big boy! What do you want for Christmas?"

"Mommy be happy."

"That's a big request! Is there anything else? Any toys?"

Kai shook his head and started squirming. "Santa" looked over at me with questioning look.

"Let me down, I go mrs. Helen." Kai whined as he kicked the man in the red suit's knee and grabbed his beard. "I not like Santa. He not nice Mrs. Helen!"

"Okay, let's go buy some presents for your friends and leave Santa alone." I told him walking out of the "north pole" apologizing as we left.

"We get pwesents fo' mister and missus?" Kai asked looking up at me.

"Of course! What do you want to get them?"

"Hmmm," he stood there thinking for a minute before pulling me towards a store. " I know! Follow me!"

Helen took Kai shopping this morning, I couldn't go because of work. Levi is picking me up since I don't have any other transportation; that's what I'm doing now, waiting for my ride. In other news, I bought a phone last week, which is exciting, it has helped since I'm always getting asked for contact information by people working my mom's case.
The doorbell rang snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Morning Esther!" Levi greeted after I opened the door.

"Good morning! Thank you so much for picking me up! I really appreciate it!"

"It's no problem, if you ever need rides, or anything really, all you have to do is give me a call."

"Thank you, but Joel, Moriah, David, and all of the guys return in 2 or 3 days, I think they'll be able to help me out too." I told Levi as he pulled out of the drive way.

"Great! But I'm serious, I want and am glad to help in any way I can!"

"Why?"

"I like to make sure my employees are well taken care of."
