Joe's POV:
Making sure the coast is clear, Joe grabs the bags of Christmas gifts from his cars trunk and quickly slips into his parents house and down got the basement with them. He hides them in the closet for now since he was going to wait until his parents went to bed to wrap them and put under the tree. There was only a few days until Christmas and even though most people were looking forward to it, Joe was feeling a little down about it. He knew the closer it was to Christmas the closer it was until everything went back to normal and Y/N went back home. His next two games were away games so he knew he wouldn't get to spend a lot of time with her before she left back home and his busy schedule. It was times like this where he wished the football season started instead in January and ended during the summer that way everyone had time to spend holidays with their loved ones.
Joe looked at the time and realized it was almost 10:40PM he hadn't realized how late it actually was and went back upstairs to wish his parents a good night. He knew deep down Y/N wasn't going to risk getting caught downstairs again by his parents so he should just turn in for the night. Walking upstairs he heard his parents talking in the kitchen, they were already in their pajamas and his dad was taking the last of some antibiotics from a really bad cold he had earlier this month. "We thought you went straight to bed." His mom smiles at her son as he walked into the kitchen. "You saw me talking to Y/N for a bit outside." Joe says making his father shake his head at his wife. "Okay, I was just wondering where you were at and simply saw you two talking. I was not peeping on your conversation." His mom defends herself but Joe & his dad knew that was not the case. "I'll let you talk to your mom, we already had our conversation." Joes dad says patting his shoulder and walking towards the stairs. "So you've talked to your dad?" Joes mom raises an eyebrow and Joe sighs knowing he wasn't going to get out of this. "There's nothing to really talk about I just realized I had these feelings for Y/N but there's nothing I can do about them because we both live totally different lives." Joe shrugs stuffing his hands in his pockets of his sweats. "Who said? You mean my son who's fought for everything he's wanted in his life can't fight for the woman he wants? That doesn't sound right to me." His mom says which was not the sort of response Joe awaited from her. "Not gonna lie, that was not the response I was expecting. I was expecting the typical, sorry son maybe in another life type of talk." Joe lightly chuckles. "I would have said that if I didn't see how happy you are around her, now you figure out what you're going to do and how you're going to do it because I am tired and need some rest." His mom says giving him a hug before starting to walk out of the kitchen. "Also, a handshake? Even your father was disappointed with that one." She says before walking away and wishing him a good night. Leaving Joe chuckling that the handshake thing worked.
Joe heads back downstairs and retrieves his phone seeing a message from Y/N. He opens it immediately and smiles at the message. He didn't think she would come over after the last time but he immediately told her to give him like 15 minutes until he knew for sure his parents were asleep and that he needed help with wrapping some gifts. Quickly Joe rummages through the bags of Christmas gifts, for a moment thinking he must have left Y/N back home but he finds it and stuffs it in the back of his old closet behind some boxes.

Y/N's POV:Quickly showering after seeing Joe's response you get dressed in warm sweats and put on your snow boats. Grabbing your phone you head downstairs too see Jay, Ashlie & Junior sitting at the table wrapping presents. "I knew it! Pay up!" Jay says to Ashlie making you roll your eyes. "I knew that handshake was complete B.S ." Junior chuckles as he tapes down some wrapping paper onto a box. "Oh hush, I'm just going to help him wrap some gifts for his parents." You roll your eyes. "Is that what you call it?" Ashlie snorts. "Where's Chris?" You ask her. "He went to bed, said he had a headache." She shrugs. "What time do the guys get here tomorrow?" You ask them. "Eddie and Trey get here super early at like 7AM & Andy gets here at 3PM" Junior says. "Don't you worry, you can sleep in with your little boy toy tomorrow morning. I'll go with Junior to the airport." Jay says as you check your phone and see Joe's text that the coast was clear.
