Chapter 3

3rd Person POV

It's been a few weeks since Y/N started at their new school, and they've settled in well, they remained closest with Julie. Though Jackie also talked to them on a daily basis, even showing them a picture of her boyfriend, whose name was Howdy, he was an interesting fellow, green skin that reminded them of a pea, and clip on antenna, Jackie seemed head over heels though, so that was fine.

It was currently the weekend, and they were wearing (outfit of choice) while walking with Julie, Jackie and Darchi. Bec would have been with them, but she was sick that morning and had to get some rest. They were walking down the street as Julie's other friends agreed to meet Y/N.

The only reason they hadn't met yet, was because they went to a different school, though they'd seen pictures of a few of them. As they walk, Julie is talking on the phone with somebody called 'Frank', they're talking about where they'd be meeting up, seemingly debating about it.

It took ten(10) minutes for them to decide, and another fifteen(15) minutes to walk there, and when they arrived, Y/N was met with a group of seven(7) other people.

1st Person POV

(Y/N's POV)

I look at the group, the leader, who is some short dude with a blue spiralled pompadour, makes eye contact with me, his face seems relaxed, but he looks unhappy with me, which is odd because I don't know the guy.

I recognise Howdy, his green skin sticking out in the crowd, his height also does that, he looks intimidating, as if he could break my back with a single kick, just the thought of that sends a shiver down my spine.

The next one to catch my eye is this sweet looking girl, who is just as tall as Howdy, maybe a little shorter, her rainbow hair catching my attention, then I notice the yellow face mask. She seems friendly and easy to approach.

Next is the blue guy, I like his hat. He smiled down at me with a greeting nod, he was a little shorter than the girl with the rainbow hair, and he has a beard, overall he looks like a non-threatening guy.

Next I see another girl, she looks a little taller than Julie, and she had a cool headband with spikes on it, and a cloud hairpin, she seemed friendly enough.

Next to that girl, there are two guys, they're holding hands, that's sweet, I wonder if they're together. The first one has grey skin and a unibrow, and glasses, he looks smart, he looks as if he's analysing everything about me, a little intimidating.

The guy he's holding hands with looks like a teddy bear, figuratively, he had a lip piercing too, he smiles warmly at me, not intimidating at all, I hope he and I can be friends.

3rd Person POV

Y/N stands there awkwardly as the group watches them, Julie is the one to break the silence, throwing her arm around them.

"Guys, meet Y/N, they're new to my school, and I want you all to be nice!" She says happily. "Y/N, meet Sally, Frank, Eddie, Howdy, Barnaby, Poppy and Wally!" Julie exclaims happily, pointing to the girl with the spiked headband, the two boys holding hands, Howdy, the blue guy, the girl with rainbow hair, and the short guy.

A series of hellos and hi's echo from the group, Sally, as Y/N now knew, approached them first with her hand out stretched for a handshake. Y/N accepting the handshake with a gentle hand.

"So Y/N, how are you liking it here so far?" Sally asks with a bright smile.

"It's not so bad, Julie and the others have been really welcoming here, Darchi has been helping me catch up with the schoolwork I've missed during the term, and Bec always makes sure I eat. Jackie helps me with homework when I need it." Y/N replied with a smile, not seeing as Howdy gave Jackie an approving look, which both Darchi and Jackie give each other a fist bump, Julie smiling happily.

"Yea, that sounds like them, well, hopefully you'll fit right in with us here, you seem like a cool person." Sally said with a smirk before letting go of Y/N's hand and walking over to Julie, the two getting lost in conversation, Howdy and Jackie talking with one another, although it looks like Jackie is flustering Howdy, at least from Y/N's perspective.

They then make eye contact with Wally, his expression was the same as before, intimidating, though something about him made them want to get closer, they weren't sure what, maybe it was his expression, or the blue hair, it could've even been the apple and house pin on his jacket.

Either way, Y/N was unsure on how to approach the intimidating boy, even if they wanted to talk to him and see why he looked at them with such disdain.

After about 5 minutes of debating with themself, Y/N hesitantly approached Wally, tapping him on the shoulder nervously and interrupting his conversation with Barnaby and Poppy.

Wally turns around with that same intimidating expression as Poppy and Barnaby smile down at them, both waving hello, Poppy's eyes crinkling to show she was indeed smiling under her mask.

Wally changes his expression just enough to confuse Y/N on his thoughts on them, he looks both intrigued and indifferent about them approaching him.
