Prologue

(Steele)

Steele Ashton, known as one of the most successful businessmen, with the reputation of being a particularly unapproachable young man. From the tender age of twenty-one he ascended to the position of C.E.O. and owner of BonIs International; a chain of five star hotels located at various parts of the world, totaling ten branches.

Now at age 25 he is not only a C.E.O. but he is the sole benefactor of the Ashton family's fortune, willed to him by his eccentric grandparents Reis and Bonnie Ashton. Staying true to their title of eccentric and inseparable they both died together; 10:45 and 10:47 pm May 27th 1999; leaving young Steele to fight off the remainder of his money grabbing family members.

Steele's father being completely bewitched by the she-devil and Steele's Mother; Mila, was seen by his parents as pussy whipped, and therefore he was never to get his hands on the family business they worked so hard to build.

Steele had no choice but to give up his carefree and childish ways in order to fulfill his grandparent's wish, and as with everything time has taken its toll on his true personality. As the C.E.O of BonIs International, Steele was forced to shield his kind and eccentric personality with a thick wall coated with misplaced anger.

PROLOGUE

(Vinton)

Vinton Avery is a thirty-nine year old single parent of twenty years. He is a devoted father who lives with his twenty year old daughter Alexandria. Vinton known as Avery works two jobs to keep his family happy and to put his daughter through Law school; he's a garbage collector by night and a construction worker by day.

Vinton's life has been anything but easy filled with heartache as an Afro-Trinidadian and not in the usual sense. At age eoghteen in his final year of high school he married his high school sweetheart and childhood friend of 15 years Alexia Brewby. To be rudely awakened from his high-like dream by her death arising from complications during the birth of his angel of a daughter Alex.

To keep himself from falling into a great depression Vinton has poured every ounce of himself into making his daughter happy and keeping her safe.

Vinton had to do it all alone after his mother and only true friend passed away when Alex was five years old. It's been a long and tough road; no support from "friends", no real social life, no relationships, and most definitely no breaks. Being both mother and father is a full time job.

Vinton has learned that anger is never the answer, and as such it is unbecoming of a true man, especially one who is the sole caretaker of a young impressionable girl in today's society.
