KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

"Hold on, I'm coming," Sprig gave a gentle shout at the door as he just finished breakfast. Not to his surprise, it was Lewis who visited him.

"Sprig, I see you have already prepared for the day." Lewis saw the new farmer at the door, already wearing his daily attire.

"Yes, you could say the office life was partially responsible for that, I had to wake up in 6:00 AM every morning."

"You didn't come to town yesterday, I just thought I'd check if you're doing well today," Lewis reminded.

"Sorry, Mayor. I spent my whole yesterday reading my grandfather's journal on how to properly farm. And heck, why not also explore the surrounding area once that's done? I ended up losing track of time, when seeing it's 9:00 PM."

"Sigh, Sprig, you know that socializing's a big part for establishing a relationship into any community. Perhaps I can give you a short tour around the main square for a start, what do you say?"

Sprig accepted the offer, showing no hesitation. After all, the town would probably became the place where he spent his entire day while waiting for the crops' steady growth, now he was starting to understand where the mayor established his standpoint when giving his criticism. The two walked across the path, passing the bus station. Along the way, the new farmer couldn't help but notice how the journey took about 10 minutes between his farm and the main square for a relatively small town. Despite this, he was still in awestruck at the sight of the structures and buildings surrounding the square.

"Welcome to the heart of Pelican Town," Lewis stepped back and paused, letting the new farmer to admire their surroundings.

This new territory presented an overwhelming unfamiliarity. A charming small countryside town, greatly contrasting against the large urban areas that hosted Sprig's old workplace and his apartment near it. The depressing capitalist grey tone he saw almost daily had shifted over a more vibrant and bouncier color palette. Every building possessed their own distinctive characteristics from one another, making each one uniquely memorable.

"Ahem, as I was saying...," Sprig retrieved his focus back towards Lewis. "You see Sprig, this is a lively town filled with lively people. No matter how much or little their roles might be in significance, every citizen here played each of their part at maintaining the community," Lewis remarked.

The mayor gestured Sprig to follow him, and they started their tour from the nearest building.

"The first building is our local clinic, I think the exterior already describe it clearly. Anyway, you can trust that this town will provide you the best healthcare, should any accidents happen."

Indeed, healthcare bestowed one of the town's basic necessities, whether large or small. Sprig understood well why this became the establishment kickstarting the tour, no town should dismiss their clinic's existence.

"Right next door, we have our general store, where you can buy all kinds of goods, including your farming seeds, Sprig."

Farming seeds and daily needs encompassed the general store's importance next to Sprig's workload. He only hoped it featured adequate prices and a complete catalogue.

"Extending off the store's entrance, you can find the ever-lively stardrop saloon, what a great place for a break after a long day of work."

Lewis' last remark was obviously referencing Sprig's long day of operating the farm. Spot on, the mayor had successfully sold the location's selling point, given the small grin on Sprig's face exhibited his anticipation.
