              Chapter Three: Out

It has been months since that 'accident'. Everyone thought Lucy was dead. But I didn't. I had hope, how did everyone not have a little bit?
This was my fifth time sneaking out. I *had* to find Lucy! If mom found out, I would never be able to find her. No matter what happens tonight, I will find her.

"I'm walking  to your house," I said into the phone.
"It's midnight" Lily whined
"So? I told you. I'm finding Lucy tonight, no matter what." I sighed "so are you in?"
"Yeah, only if Juan, Victor, and Gabe is coming"
"They are"
"Promise?"
"Promise" I hung up. I was only about two minutes away from Lily's house.
I kept walking.

About twenty minutes later I was in her room. I climbed in through her window and she shoved a cup of tea into my hands. Sat me on her bed and turned on the TV.
"So"
"You said Victor was going to be here!" Lily angrily hissed.
"Yeah, I called him, we're supposed to pick him up."
"Pick him up?" Lily questioned.
"Well we walk there, then we get in his car with him. Then we go pick up Gabe and find Lucy." I explained. I think I said it really oddly or I said it really fast, because she looked at me as if I had two heads.
"Okay." She sighed.

*two hours later 1:34 a.m.*

"Are we actually doing this?" Lily complained as Gabe started crawling through a sewer pipe. The pipe was about two and half feet wide, and one and half feet tall.
"Yep." Gabe grunted through the pipe.
"Don't worry Lily, I'll be right behind you." Victor reassured.
I grabbed onto the oddly slimy sewer pipe that was about a foot above my head. My hand slipped, and I fell back a little.
"Gah!"
"Are you okay?" Lily asked.
"Yeah, the pipe is a little slippery. That's all." I said.
"I'll lift you up." Juan offered.
"Thanks."
Juan lifted me, I laid down on the cold, wet, slimy metal. I gasped from the cold and finished shuffling into the pipe. I start crawling behind Gabe. I heard Lily grunt from behind me and start crawling. Thunk thunk thunk thunk. The metal sang as we crawled through.
Every once in a while I would hear a splash, I didn't know who was splashing but shortly after I would hear Lily yell; 'hey' 'stop that' or 'quit it'. The pipe was long and was slowly widening. After about twenty minutes I heard a thud.
Then Gabe yelled "There's a drop into the sewer. I'll catch you!"
"Okay!" I called out.
I was going to put my hand on the pipe, then before I knew it I was falling. It was a short fall, only a few feet, but it freaked me out. As soon as Gabe 'catched' me. He toppled over and we splashed into the dark, stinky, cold water.
