After welcoming Thea into their group, the group was finally free to rest. Fatigue overtook them. They decided to resign to their respective homes.

Thea didn't have anywhere to go to. Philip lived in a small apartment, and he thought it would be rude to make a princess sleep on his sofa, however comfortable he thought it to be. Thea had decided to sleep at one of Kane's houses.

That night, as Philip lay on his bed thinking about his choice to retire. Every time he thought about not going on adventures anymore, he was overcome with a sorrowful ambivalence. These powers were the only thing that separated him from the rest of the world.

But on the other hand, he had an interesting life. He did not wish to endanger it. Philip considered talking about all this with someone. He soon concluded that there wasn't anyone he could talk to about not being an adventurer anymore.

Philip thought about talking to Kane about his indecision and knew that Kane wouldn't help him. Even though Kane would support Philip if he decided to retire, it would be against Kane's wishes.

Thea was new. She didn't know much about Philip or anyone in the group but she wouldn't agree with Philip not wanting to be an adventurer as that was why she was there. Fenton had sent her with Philip because he knew that Philip would keep going on adventures.

Philip was surprised by this action of Fenton. Fenton had known about Philip's future and entered Philip's mind. So Fenton was aware of Philip's thoughts of retirement, yet he had sent Thea with him. Philip had gotten more confused the more he thought about it.

Joy was still mad at him, although he didn't know what for so he couldn't talk to her about this either.

As soon as he thought about Joy, he remembered that she had wanted to tell him something. They had all been distracted by Thea and Joy had probably forgotten what she wanted to talk to Philip about.

He realized that he was comfortable talking to Joy. To him, she was his closest friend even though they had been acquainted for a short time.

Perhaps she was important to him for some other reason but before he was able to conclude that he might like her, he realised that the reason he felt close to her was that they were bonded. She had shared his name with her. For a Pixie that was an important part.

He promised himself that he was going to talk to her as soon as he could, meaning the following morning.

He still needed someone who he could talk to. Just then he remembered someone who would be open to listening to him.

"Aether. Are you there?" Philip spoke in his head.

"Why do you call upon me? You already know what my opinion on your dilemma will be." Aether's voice replied.

"Nonetheless, you know me better than most people. You can help me reach an answer." Philip whined. He knew that Aether would be against him stopping retirement and that Aether was the only one who could stop Philip.

"You truly wish to reach an answer? Then I'll tell you a story, Philip. About an adventurer, long ago, " Aether said.

Philip felt a strange energy creep into his mind. As he allowed the energy to creep in, he fell asleep. The vision that Aether wanted to show him appeared in his mind.

"A long time ago, one particular adventurer, tired from days of fighting, tried to get back to his home. His body was about to break as this adventurer looked for the doorway back. After walking some distance, a portal appeared before him. Even though he was exhausted, his intuition made him ready his sword. "

"He unsheathed his sword, covered in blood and riddled with cracks. Even a single strike would be enough to destroy it. Percy was rendered speechless over the state of his beloved blade. Knowing that he could not mourn over the blade in his condition, he continued onward. He stepped through the portal, expecting to return home.

"Perhaps that became the reason for his shock when he ended up underground. The injured adventurer did not understand what had happened. He was surrounded by flames and smoke. The sudden lack of oxygen caused him to faint.

"For the first time in his life, he would be on an adventure unlike any other.
