Jeff The Ghost

Chapter X

They threw him back in the room and shut the door tight and locked it. The king and one of his guards left, the other guard stayed by the door. I went through the door and saw him still unconscious. I decided it was time to take my revenge. I left the room, after several tries I finally grabbed the keys off the guard and unlocked the door, then put them back in its place.I went the direction I saw the king walking in and went to find him.

I found him a couple of minutes later in his chair sleeping while a guard was keeping watch. I walked over there and tried to possess the guard, I failed at doing so the first couple of time but finally possessed him and walked him out the doors. There was another guard standing out there so I put him on the side where the other guard wasn't. "Aren't you supposed to be guarding the king" The guard said. I froze.

"Uhm, he told me to come guard out here" I lied

"Oh ok" the guard said.

I left the body, and went to walk back inside. "How did I get out here?" The guard I possessed said.

"Huh? You just said the king asked you to come guard out here." The other guard said.

"I did?"

"Yea,..did you not get enough sleep or something?

"Apparently not" I heard the guard say as I went through the doors and walked up to the king, he was still asleep in his throne. I walked back to where the room they had Kyle in and knocked the guard out. I opened the door first try. Kyle was awake, he looked confused as he saw the door open. He stood up and walked out the door. I saw him look at the guard on the ground. I tapped his shoulder. He jumped for a second and looked behind him to see nothing. I laughed at him.

"Who's there?!" He asked. Did he hear me? I tried making myself visible, I hadn't really gotten that far but I decided to try it out. It must have worked cause he looked directly at me. "Jeff?"

"Hey Kyle"

"Aren't you dead?" He asked

"I am, I'm just...a ghost" I responded

"Oh.." Kyle said

"Do you want to help me kill the king?" I asked him

"Yes" he responded immediately.

"Ok, lets go" we walked towards the king in his chair, still sleeping. I saw some rope in the corner and went to grab it, I heard the king move and looked over and saw him awake and looking at kyle.

"How did you escape?!"

"Him" he pointed towards me and the king looked in my direction with confusion written on his face and at that moment I grabbed the rope and started choking him with it whilst Kyle helped hold him down, he was trying to escape his grasp but Kyle just held on tighter and tighter.

"How did..you sur..survive?!" He said through gasps

"I didn't" he was losing consciousness. I saw him fall over, his stomach was not rising up or down, I checked his pulse, he was dead. I told Kyle he was dead and he went running towards the room his sister was in. He came down a few moments later with April. One of the guards came in and saw the king dead, I thought he was going to grab his gun and start shooting at us but he didnt and had a big smile on his face as he told the other guard.

They ran towards the town and yelled to all the townspeople that the king was dead. They all cheered and one of them asked how he died, they pointed to both me and Kyle, but then Kyle pointed to me giving me all the credit. They cheered and ran towards me, they tried hugging me but they went right through me. "They had confused looks on their faces."I'm sort of dead, you can't really touch me" they all made sad noises and we all went towards the palace so the townspeople could see the king.

They all went towards the kings body and stood there, April walked up to the body and took the crown off his head, she asked one of the guards for a knife, he handed it to her hesitantly, she took it and carved a letter on it, she walked over to me and gave me the crown, I looked on the front of it to see the letter J carved into it. My eyes welled up with happy tears as I put the crown on top of my head, they all cheered and declared that I would be the new "Ghost King".
