I Love You

Sakshi would've killed him if he tried.

Uruvi yawned tiredly as she peered at the crack of light streaming through the window just a few feet from the bed.

She hadn't gotten much sleep last night. Her thoughts had been overwhelmed by what she had found out from Tanuj.

Nawab had returned to the castle after Tanuj said those words, stopping Uruvi from asking any more questions, but it hadn't stopped Uruvi from thinking about everything she had learned.

Tanuj had stated that he was sure Daksh wouldn't have ruined Jaya by taking her as a lover, yet he didn't seem to be confident.

The only thing that suggested Daksh wasn't Jaya's lover was when Shivam told her that his father had ridden out of the courtyard just before Jaya went for her walk that day, and she had come back sobbing before running away.

However, Daksh might have ridden out and around the curtain wall to the cliffs.

He could have been the girl's lover.

It didn't speak highly of either Sakshi's sister or husband if they were lovers, but if Daksh was as bad as Shivam, Uruvi didn't think his conscience would trouble him much.

When it came to the way Shivam interacted with the women here, she didn't see much of a conscience in him.

He got what he could from each woman and went merrily on his way to the next like a bee buzzing from flower to flower, oblivious to the havoc he left behind.

As for Sakshi's sister, Jaya had been engaged to a terrible man known for his cruelty and abuse.

She might have been desperate enough to become involved with her sister's husband to save herself, or simply to have one more chance at happiness before being forced into the marriage.

Uruvi could almost understand that herself.

Her own behaviour on the day she found out she was going to marry the Devil of Indraprastha had been less than exceptional.

She had let Nawab kiss and touch her in ways she still couldn't believe. Yet she had justified it by using the horrible marriage she had thought was in her future.

Telling herself that it was the only pleasure she would ever have in her life.

She couldn't even say she would have pushed him away quicker if she had known he was married, though she would like to believe she would have if she had a sister, and he was her brother-in-law.

Maybe because she wasn't quite as young as Jaya had been.

Uruvi sighed and yawned again, thinking that a child such as Jaya would be able to justify having her sister's husband as a lover in this way.

She might have even hoped that the man would find a way to save her from the marriage.

She frowned at the possibilities floating around in her mind.

Was it possible that Sakshi found out that her sister and husband were lovers? Was this the one mistake she wasn't willing to forgive Daksh for? Also, why did Jaya come back after leaving so quickly the first time?

Did she even really kill herself?

She might have committed suicide because she felt horrible about frolicking with her sister's husband, but it was also probable that her death was just another murder covered up.

Sakshi could've murdered Jaya and her husband after finding out about them, she reasoned, but if so, why kill Nawab's father all those years later?

Maybe Nawab's father, Vijaypath, had somehow figured out what had happened all those years, confronted her, and caused his own death?
