{Vadrion}

 "Fancy a race to that mountain?" the red head questioned, he smirked as I nodded. We'd landed on a planet so, Greez could collect supplies. Good timing really, we was going stir crazy cramped up on that ship. "Last on there cleans the dishes tonight" oh it was on, we'd taken off soon enough. Cal had leaped up onto a ledge, taking the high ground.

  I found my speed on the river beside him, skiing over it with ease. A new skill I had learnt accidentally on another planet, I was running to jumping only to slip and ended up gliding across it like it was solid ground. As the river ended I used my power to boost me up the mountain and meeting, Cal, half way. Glancing across at one another, neither of us backing down, our speed matched. We was gaining on the top, it began to steepen, causing us now to climb. Cal, took this to his advantage and jumped his way up to the next available ridge. I followed close behind, my body was glowing as I shot myself past him, griping at the ledge. I'd almost won, until the ledge began to crumple, my eyes widened as it completely dispersed into dust. Fortunately my hand was gripped and I was pulled up onto the top of the mountain. I huffed in defeat, kicking the dirt.

"I really thought you had it then" he tutted my way, a mischievous smile tugged at his lips. I crossed my arms and looked away. He chuckled, crouching to my level to look at me "Is someone sulking because they have to do the dishes tonight" my lip unconsciously protruded outwards causing a roar of laughter, his laugh was contagious I couldn't stop the smile forming on my lips even though I tried. "You can't stay mad at me" he prodded my cheek "Come on, if you beat me on the way down I'll help you. Deal" I gave him a side glace before jumping off the mountain top.

  Feeling the wind tugging at my hair as the ground came into view, I drifted myself into position. I dived straight into the waters perfectly, gliding across the top of it back towards the ship. I could see the fiery red hair not far behind as I saw my victory. I collapsed at the bottom of the hatch and looked over as he pressed his hands into his knees to catch his breath "Looks like I won that time" he didn't reply, so I crouched down to look at him "Is someone sulking because they have to help me with the dishes" I mimicked him and prodded his check and laughed as he stood up shaking his head with a smile. That smile faded quickly as the blood curling screams echoed from the forest. "Was that-" Cal had already taken off and disappeared before I could even see which direction he'd gone. I stared into the tree line, looking for the red head, but it had gone deadly silent until his panicked yells soon returned.

"Aeryn!" Cal called as he emerged from the tree line with, Greez in his arms "Aeryn can you heal him?" he was panicked as he placed our four armed friend before me. I knelt down and inspected the infected bite on his shoulder, I looked up as the other ran down the hatch to us. I attempted to heal him, to no avail.

  I'd learnt a long time ago that my powers can only heal injuries such as cuts and burns, something like an infection that is in the blood stream is not so simple. Cal was pacing on the spot, telling me to try again. I sighed and stood back up to face him "It doesn't work like that, Cal, he's infected we needed to find an antidote"

"That's the bite of the morious bird" Cere spoke in a stern tone, "The only antidote is on the Vadrion planet, but that planet had been abandoned for centuries since the outbreak of a disease" she explained "From what I have been told that planet, if breathing in its air can cause dangerous hallucinations. In some cases its led people to go completely insane or die from it fumes. It was a failed experiment that killed the lives of many" she had a grave expression on her face.

"We have no other choice" Cal spoke, raising our injured friend and leading us back into the ship "What are the coordinates?" he asked Cere after laying, Greez down on the sofa. Cere was reluctant to speak "Cere, he will die if we don't find the antidote, it's a risk I am willing to take. Plus we have these oxygen masks to we won't breath in the planets air" he assured her and she nodded, putting in the coordinates we buckled up and flew into hyper space.
