When I came to, I was in bed, but it wasn't my own. My head was spinning, I felt sick and wanted a full grasp of my surroundings so I tried to sit up but to no avail. "GAh! Dammit!" "oh my god, thank goodness you're alright!" I looked over to see Joanna with red eyes at my side with Nico's head on her lap, His tail began to wag and Joanna smiled so wide before showing a face of shock and called for our fathers. "Oh my, thank god you're ok! I was so scared I would lose you too." my father said, tears streaming down his face, "I'm fine Father, but, how long was I out?" I squeaked out meekly, "3 days, If it weren't for Joanna retrieving us, you might've died my dear boy." replied Lord cunningham, my father helped me sit up and I now had a grasp of where I was and what was happening.
There was a bandage around my torso and over my left eye. 'Double scar' I thought to myself, I was still at Cunningham manor, and it had been 3 days since we went to retrieve Nico who was right by my side. "Clyde?" Joanna asked, gently, "Would you like something to eat?" I only turned my head to look at her, "No thank you, I'm still a little dizzy." I replied. She nodded and looked at the clock then to her father, "I'm going to retire to my quarters. Goodnight everyone." She smiled and left the room.
I sighed and leaned back on my elbows, trying my best to keep my torso straight."Dear boy, I thank you for your quick thinking and protecting my daughter, it's such a shame though that you got hurt in the process. Though I am one to talk, since before I truly met you, I thought you were the opposite of what you are. I thought you evil, and crude, only to find those were lies. You were more of a man because of your hardship and tolerance, though afraid you never showed weakness. You are a true man." "Thank you sir, but I am no more of a man than you are." I smiled at Lord Cunningham as he chuckled, my father sat on the chair Joanna had previously, Nico's head on the edge of my bed next to him. "You need rest now son, you need that energy to recover." Said my father. And with that, I laid down and pet Nico as I went to sleep.
