"Damn, it's loud as fuck!", I screamed at Joanne so that she could understand me.
"What?! I can't hear you, it's too loud!", she screamed back.
I just threw my hand at her as a symbol for her to forget it.
I stopped in my tracks, because it was then and there that I noticed that I forgot my phone at home. But it didn't matter. I could have fun without it, right?
We continued our way through the masses and finally got through to the bar. After some time had passed, the bartender turned to us and shouted over the loudness, asking us what we wanted to drink.
As soon as I got my drink, I got it down all at once and shook my head, waiting for the burning in my throat to go away.
"Tonight's gonna be fun!", Joanne shouted and I couldn't agree more. I was definitely looking forward to drinking and dancing the whole night until my feet couldn't hold me up anymore.
Since I didn't want to wait any longer, I took her hand and led her to the middle of the dance floor.
We danced to a few songs, but then the dj put on the best of all - dance with somebody by mando diao.
We danced as if there was no tomorrow, shouted the chorus of the song at each other and had the most fun.
I threw my hands in the air and twirled around. I stopped as I was standing across from Joanne again. She on the other side threw her head from one side to another and her blond hair flew through the air. She looked amazing. I had to smile very broadly at that side. I wanted to follow her lead and dance as she did, but the moment my eyes left her, they found another pair of brown eyes, which followed my every step.
They mustered my body and the way I moved to the music until they found my eyes again. The look in them was undescribable, but I enjoyed every little bit of it. I felt like I was playing with fire.
The chorus started playing again and this time I sang every word of it to those eyes without breaking eye contact.
They didn't look away, and neither did I. At this moment, it was only us two. Him and I.
I could feel the tension in the air. I could even feel it to the extent of getting goosebumps. My pupils widened and I could feel the adrenaline rush through my body.
He just stood there and watched me with a gaze I've never seen before.
As the song ended and another one started playing, I stopped dancing and now I was also just standing and looking at him. The crowd was still dancing and partying around us. Even Joanne didn't seem to notice, but for me, it felt like the whole world stopped turning. With only a few feet separating us from each other, we still didn't break eye contact. His eyes burning into mine. Mine not leaving his. There was only us.
"YOU CAME!", someone shouted into my right ear.
I was startled and turned to see who was shouting into my ear.
"Danny", I said under my breath as I recognised him.
Then I remembered what happened before and looked back ahead to where those eyes were before, but they were gone.
With a sigh, I turned back to Daniel and smiled at him and said: "I'm happy to see you."
And his smile just got bigger and wider.
"You wanna dance some more?", he asked with raised eyebrows.
"Sure, but I need a drink first. It's damn hot in here", I replied to him and he nodded.
I looked over to Joanne, wanting to let her know what was going on, but she was already dancing with a dude and smiled at me knowingly.
I laughed at that sight and we made our way over to the bar, where he paid for the drinks.
