(A/n: this chapter takes place a few weeks after the first chapter) "Hey Quinn," Edmund says as I walk into class. "Hi." I say. His Black hair is messy today unlike most of the time when it's really nice and groomed. "Okay, today you are going to start your partner projects." Miss. Paige says looking up from the attendance sheet. "You have to come up with a title of a book and talk about it. This is half of your writing grade." She finishes. Everyone around us starts to talk but I just look at Edmund. " So what are we going to do?" I ask. He shrugs. " I'm not sure. Maybe something that we both like put together?" He says. I nod. " Yeah."

"Okay then." He says pulling out a note book. instead of writing ideas down like I think he would he starts to sketch. " What are you doing?" I ask him "Sketching, why?" He replies not looking up. "No reason." I look out the window and we stay quiet for the rest of class.

When I get home I start on my home work and then I get a message. I put out my phone and look at my messages, I see an unknown number.

Unknown: Hi Quinn, It's Edmund, Kimberly gave me your number.

You: Oh Hi Edmund.

I go to my message settings and put his name in.

Edmund Finn: So what are we doing for the project, like we agreed, something we both like. Maybe music?

You: Yeah but what kind? instrumental, lyrical, or music from musicals?

Edmund Finn: Idk. I'm in theater so maybe musicals.

you: okay that works for me. But now we need to figure out a time for you to come over and work on it.

Edmund Finn: I can do Friday.

you: Yeah that works for me.

Edmund Finn: Ok see you tomorrow.

I turn off my phone and finish my homework. As I finish, Kimberly calls me. "What?" I ask answering the phone. " Nothing god. but I was wondering," She says. "yeah..."

" I was wondering if I could set you out on a date with some one that likes you."

"Fuck no. Dude. Who, No girls you know that."

" Yeah. Yeah. And I never said it was a girl"

"Wait, are you saying that you're trying to set up a guy with me?"

"Hey I can't have you being a lonely gay the rest of your life."

"Says you."

"Okay just cause I'm single doesn't mean I will be forever."

"Whatever. Who is it?"

"Someone."

"Kim."

"Quinn"

"Tell me."

"No it's a blind date will you go on it? It would be Saturday evening."

"Fine. Where?"

"A diner."

"Got to go, Bye."

"Bye."

I hang up the phone and walk downstairs. " Hey Q, What do you want for dinner?" My mom asks.

"I'm not sure, something simple." She nods and starts to cook I sit down on the couch and get on my phone.

I start checking messages and see that Edmund had texted me again.

Edmund Finn: Hey.

you: Hi
