Sunset Romance

When we met

Both of us were at a launch of a rocket ship. We had both been backing up to take a picture of the rocket lifting of upon the sunset, it was beautiful. When we bumped into each other we looked into each other's eyes and it was love at first sight. We gave each other our phone numbers and went on with watching the launch. I called him later that night and learned his name was Kai, and he learned my name, Iris. We talked and talked about the launch and where it was going. We both wanted to become astronomers, so we related in that sense. I was a huge science geek so I never had a crush before but now I think I did. He was so sweet and kind and smart, he was perfect. I was texting him later and we found out we lived and very different places. I lived on a military base in Florida, and he lived in a small cottage in Wisconsin. We wanted to meet again but the chances of that we're really low, there wasn't another launch for four months and the chances he would get permission to come to Florida for the launch was very small. Another problem was that I moved with my family so often, I never got to make true friends in one are that lasted. I really wanted to Kai again so I called him and talked to his grandmother she said the next time he could make it was when he worked there. I was really sad about that and wanted to scream but I kept it cool. I said thank you and hung up.
