Cami yawned and rubbed her eyes to see her father already up. "Daddy?"
He smiled. "Hey, sweet pea. Remember I told you about a Daddy Cami day?"
"Yeah. Is dat time?"
"It's time."
"Yay! Can we go?"
He chuckled. "First we need to get you ready."
"Can we has pancakes?"
"Pancakes sound like a great idea."
"Wif tawberries?"
"Even better, kiddo. C'mere and pick out your clothes. I've got a few things to choose from."
Cami slid off the bed and walked up to her father. She pointed to a red pair of leggings with pink hearts and a white shirt with a red heart that said Daddy's Girl.
"Great choices, kiddo. Sandals or shoes and socks?"
"Boots."
"We gotta fix your boots, remember?"
"Boots!"
"Cami, your boots need to be fixed and we need to find time to do that. Sandals or socks and shoes?"
Cami sighed and picked up the sandals. "Dese."
"All right. Let's try to go to the bathroom and brush your teeth, okay?"
"I don't havta go."
"We're gonna try, okay?"
Cami nodded and walked to the bathroom. Dean followed her and helped her.
To his relief, she went, meaning she'd be okay for awhile.
He helped her wash her hands, brush her teeth, and get dressed.
"Food now?" Cami asked.
Dean nodded. "Yup, food."
The father and daughter made their way to a nearby diner and Cami sat on her knees across from her father. "Tawberry pancakes here?"
Dean looked at the menu. "They just have pancakes, but we can add strawberries. Do you want milk or apple juice?"
"Tocate milk?"
"No, not right now. That's more of a treat milk."
Cami pouted and her eyebrows furrowed. "Toc-"
"Camilla Isabelle, I gave you a choice. No chocolate milk right now. Regular milk or apple juice?"
"Apple duse. Sowy, Daddy."
"Thank you for apologizing. There's also bacon or sausage with your pancakes. Which do you want?"
"Um, I dunno. Bof?"
"You can only choose one. But I can get the other and we can share if you want."
"'Kay. Um, I does saus... Saus... I can't say."
"Sausage. I'll do bacon and we'll share if you'd like."
The waitress walked up and smiled. "Hi. What can I get you?"
"Apple duse and tawberry pancakes!" Cami exclaimed.
"Pancakes with strawberries and sausage for her," Dean clarified. "And I'll do the Pig-in-a-poke, side of bacon and a black coffee."
"Coming right up," the waitress said with a smile, walking away.
While they waited for their food, Dean colored with Cami.
Their food eventually arrived and Dean cut Cami's pancakes and sausage into smaller bites, then gave her some bacon.
