Ch 20
NOW
Kane didnt let me leave as I thought he would have. He stood in shock for a moment and then followed me again. I made it outside and to the Lambo when he cornered me against it. "Dont act like I left because I wanted to," he snapped. He looked crazed. "Everything that happened that was real, it wasnt fabricated! I fell for you because you were the right person for me and I still believe that."
I tried to move out from under his arms and I stopped when he grabbed my arms and pulled him to him. "Your love for Ezekiel is instinctual, you cant control it, your love for Louis, thats bound from lust and infatuation and his disgustingly cool accent," he scowled and then looked deep into my eyes. And I mean so deep he almost drowned. He traced his thumb over my cheekbone and I shivered. "Your love for me is real Azalee," he told me. "My love for you is real," he whispered. He leaned his forehead in across mine and just the slight movement and all the drama that had happened earlier caused me to push him aside and puke up bile all over the driveway.
THEN
Around 1130 I walked down the stairs when I was sure that Justin was in his room, and I walked out the front door. Kane looked at me as I closed the door behind me. "We are going out," I told him crossing my arms. "We are?" he questioned, looking confused. "Yes, we are, since I know you will follow me anyways, I figured I might as well give you an invitation," I told him.
"Wait is this a date?" he asked. I rolled my eyes. "Dont flatter yourself," I said. "Stella and Jonas are coming to get us in 30 minutes," I informed him. His stature straightened up. "You arent supposed to hang around her," he stated. I walked up close to him, like really close, my chest was pushed against his and my face was like a millimeter away from his. "But you will be with me right, so Ill be safe. I mean you will keep me safe right?" I purred, laying on my charm.
He took a step back and gulped for air. "Yeah...okay," he said. I was pretty sure he wasnt even sure what he was agreeing too but I could care less.
At The Underground
"This is a shifter bar?" Kane asked over the music. I was leading him through the crowd, and he was grasping my hand tightly. I dragged him to the bar and laughed. I ordered us a beer and then turned to look at him. "Have you never been here before?" I asked. He looked a little frightened by the glow in the dark painted bodies. "No, Ive never even been to a bar!" he exclaimed as I handed him the beer the bartender handed me.
"I thought every werewolf had been here!" I told him laughing as I took a drink of my beer. I grimaced. That was going to come up later. "Not me, my life was spent with an overbearing father who drank his booze from the lovely confines of his compound and then just sent me to combat school to become what I am today," he said. I laughed. "A guy thats never been to a bar?" I asked. Kane laughed loudly. "Yes, exactly what he was aiming for!" he took a drink of his beer and looked around.
"So what do we do now?" he asked. I smiled at him and chugged the rest of my beer, motioning for him to do the same. "Now we mingle!" I said as I took off to the dance floor. "Wait Azalee!" I heard him yell but soon I was lost in the maze of twisting and turning glowing bodies.
