In which Naruto is a Captain commanding the Azur Lane fleet against the Siren menace, and must step up and contend with a Command-backed Admiral and a conspiracy that threatens the fleet.

Today was the day.
Naruto and all of Azur Lane were standing at attention. A helicopter was on approach, containing the Admiral that would take over operations from Naruto. And the girls were not happy, for their one and only was Captain Naruto, the young man who reunited Azur Lane and Crimson Axis, and continuously pushed back the forces of Siren. They didn't need any hot-shot Admiral coming in to take all of the credit.
As for Naruto, he wasn't as worried as the others. In fact, he expected it to happen. All of his accomplishments as a Captain were bound to turn some heads and cause others to be...jealous. It didn't help that Naruto was in a position that the Admiral wished they were in instead of him. While they had big, metal lugs, Naruto was commanding incredible, powerful miracles of nature that were more effective than their current weapons.
But Naruto had it on good authority that some of the Admirals weren't using their ships right, since he started out on ships, using them to fight against the Siren forces. After a few rank advancements, he commanded ships of his own and was successful in the endeavors thanks to his elderly teachers.
"Welp, here we go. Be sure to give him a nice, warm, Azur Lane welcome." Naruto directed the shipgirls with him.
"As you wish, Master." Belfast confirmed, flanked by her fellow Royal Maids, Sirius and Dido

"Why is that Admiral even coming? Captain Naruto did nothing wrong." Honolulu whispered, looking peeved. "Hell, Captain Naruto should be Admiral by now."
"You know how it works, my little sister." St. Louis gently replied. "We may do great good, but our work is ultimately the accomplishment of others, whether they're involved or not."
