Dominican Republic, circa late February 2009
It was another bright, sunny day within the Dominican Republic. Everything within is rather tranquil and lively just like any other day for people that either live here or are here on vacation. The culture, people, and the atmosphere of the place is what makes it truly special to some people. And for some, it's about to get a whole lot better.
On one of the many empty roads within the mountain range of the Dominican Republic, a truck with five fuel tanks hooked up to the back is currently on its way to their destination. At least it would be if it were any other day, because a black 1987 Buick Grand National, followed by two custom trucks, with the first truck that's behind the Buick being red in color, and the other primarily also being black. The lead car is being driven by none other than Dominic Toretto, with Maria as his passenger and Letty sitting just in the back seat accompanying them, a familiar cross necklace around her neck. As they near the fuel tanker, Dom speaks into his radio.
Dom: "Alright, we're good to go."
He then looks over to Maria, an unwavering confidence in his eyes as he gazes at her, but still has an underlying concern for her safety, one that Maria does secretly appreciates despite both knowing she can take care of herself.
Dom: "You got this?"
Maria: "You bet your ass bubba."
The two share a quick kiss before Maria, now seen with a harness that's carrying a small tank of liquid nitrogen on her back that's also connected to a hose that she can dispense it with and a hammer to break whatever she freezes it with, climbs out of the car through the passenger side window and on top of the hood of Dom's car. Letty goes to do the same, also equipped with the same tools as her sister, but she shares a brief look with her brother-in-law and smirks at him.
Letty: "Don't worry, Dom. I'll keep an eye on her."
Dom smiles at the reassurance, even though it wasn't needed, but still appreciates it all the same as he knows how the twins watch out for each other, Letty more so as she is the elder sister, something Dom relates to with his own siblings. As the two break their glances, Dom focuses back on the road and tanker in front of them as Letty climbs out of the car to join her younger twin.
Letty: "Let's make some money!"
Once Letty joins her sister on the hood of the car, the two share a look as Maria let's out a small smile towards her sister, one the elder sibling returns before they focus back up on the job in front of them.
Dom: "Everyone in position." he orders through the walkie
That's when Han, an old friend of Dom's, speaks over the radio as he drives the red truck that's behind Dom alongside a woman, Cara, who is sitting next to him as she'd also be part of the plan.
Han: "I thought we'd be robbing banks by now, not some gas truck in the middle of nowhere."
Letty: "Down here, gas is gold, bubba."
That's when Tego, a resident of the Dominican Republic and former street racer, speaks up through the radio.
Tego: "Si, pero los bancos no se mueven (Yeah, but banks don't move)."
That's when his friend and passenger, Rico, laughs.
Rico: "Cada vez que te acercas a un banco... tenemos que sacarte el culo de la cárcel (Anytime you get near a bank... we have to break your ass out of prison)."
He then tries to take the radio out of Tego's hand, but the latter wouldn't budge as the radio squeals due to the struggle, one which Dom puts an end to.
