Our first stop was to Jaz's check up. That had to be the best part of my day. Just hearing the baby's heartbeat was a precious moment and it was just as unreal to me as it was to Jaz.
I knew it had to be hard for her to know that it was a chance that Roscoe could miss out on her whole pregnancy and wouldn't get the opportunity to pre-bond with his child. Just sad.
While the OB/GYN gave Jaz a couple papers to sign, I sat there wondering what the hell ever happened to that bitch Nina. She just up and disappeared somewhere with her trifling ass friend. Tray told me the black car I saw spraying up his trap after Nina left was Corey and his crew. I was confused on how Corey and Nina ended up in the same circle. I mean damn was he fucking that bitch too?
"Oh my god my baby's heartbeat was so beautiful. Did you see how it started beating faster when I rubbed my hand over my belly and started talking to him?" Jaz cooed and I smiled and nodded my head as we left out of the building and headed to my car and got in. She sat in her seat rubbing and talking to her stomach the whole ride to CFICF.
The place was a lot bigger than it appeared on the images I saw. I had done a lot of research on this place and apparently they had the best therapist in town. It was five star and I read in the reviews how most people turned there lives around and were happier with themselves since they came here.
It was even bigger inside and the color schemes were really warm and welcoming, giving off a positive vibe. The floors were so clean that I could see my reflection bouncing off of it as we walked up to the front counter that was made of marble.
"Hello my name is Glenda, welcome to CFICF, Counseling For Individuals and Families, how can I assist you two ladies today?" A young white girl with blonde hair and glasses stood up and asked.
"Hello Glenda, I made an appointment last night with Doctor O'dell to meet with my sister Jasmine Philips." I smiled and gestured for Jaz, who was admiring a waterfall, to come to the counter.
"Hi Ms.Philips, I'm Glenda. How are you?" Glenda greeted and held her hand out for Jaz to shake.
Jaz took her hand and shook it with a slight smile,"Nice to meet you Glenda, and I'm fine, thanks for asking." She giggled nervously.
"Not a problem," Glenda winked and sat down to type something in her computer. "Alright, it'll only take me a second to confirm the appointment with Doctor O'dell then I'll send you ladies on your way." She said flashing a smile before she took the phone and punched in a number. "Uh Roger I have a Jasmine Brown here to see you.....Yes its an appointment.....Okay sir, I'll send her right in." She finished and hung the phone up.
"Alright ladies, take the elevator up to the third floor, make a left, and his office should be right across the hall in room 301." She directed.
"Okay, thanks a lot." I said as we headed towards the elevator. When it opened, a lady stepped out with a smile plastered across her face and said good evening to the both of us. We returned the kindness and stepped inside as she walked away.
I wondered why everyone around acted so jubilant. It started to annoy the hell out of me. I didn't like being nice to people I didn't know. I shrugged the negativity off as we stepped out of the elevator onto the third floor.
"This place is fucking huge." I heard Jaz mumble. And she wasn't lying either. The color scheme for this floor was a soft blue with dark blue carpeting. A flowery scent filled my nostrils as we took a left in the long hall and came to a stop in front of Doctor Odell's office. I rubbed Jaz's back as we stepped through the doorway of the open office.
