I was eating my waffles when I notice a family in the other corner it looked like the dad and son where arguing about something and then the son stormed off also there was a little girl not more old than 9,"darling are you listening to me and what you looking at honey"said my mam."Oh it's nothing mam just a bit of drama so what were you on about again"then I looked in my mam eyes and all I could see was tears streaming down her face so I asked what's wrong mam are you ok."darling I need to tell you something Lizzie .....has ......disappeared".
I try to find my feet and then I ran down the stairs in to the alley where it smelt like dead rats."Are you ok"said the boy from the shop, "yes it's nothing but who are you I seen you arguing with your dad in the shop and then you stormed out why".His eyes look as cold as ice "Listen my name is Tom and that was my stepdad we don't get along very well but today was a special day for my mother and he just .... Been...an asshole about it"said Tom "well my name is Ellie and what's so special about today wait is it her birthday" he nodded and replied with "he never got her something for her birthday but a new toothbrush and ice cream so I'm mad at him for that.
"Where Is you birth dad at"i said he looked at me like I spook a different language or something "he died in a car crash 3 years ago"it looked like he was going to cry so I said "Tom what's the greatest memory of your dad" he looked at me and his smile was like a breeze on a summers day."I remember the way he danced with my mother to Elvis Presley I can't help falling in love with you and it was beautiful".He looked at me and said " why were you crying before " so I said " My best friend has disappeared and I don't know why or where she is".
All I could hear were cars and rats,"well it was nice meeting you Ellie I need to go now so bye" he was gone like a flash of lightning."honey are you down there it's time to go we need to pick up you brothers and sisters"shouted my mam"yeah coming as i headed to the Main Street my mam ran up to me and gave me a huge hug as if to say what ever happens I'll always be here.We where in the car to my brothers and sisters school "Darling are you coming to pick them up" I smiled and said "no I think I'll stay in the car or go for a little walk" she said bye and left to pick them.
