Chap. 11 A Bit of Nightmares Past

Author POV:

"Your highness! there you are!" Reaper quickly turned behind him as he looked to see Liam and Luke. "Guards sent us to look for you." Luke said while rubbing his tired eyes. "Your highness what are you doing out here?" Liam asked as Reaper started sweating a bit, he didn't want to be seen a fool looking for a mermaid. "U-umm...checking out the garden and how its growing...." Reaper said as he grabbed one of the kelp leaves.

"mmm...uh-huh...yes...I see.." Reaper said as he was pretending to observe the kelp he was holding. "yes yes...this is growing quite well...I say this will make a fine seaweed soup." Reaper said as he threw the kelp leaf. "Well, what is it you needed me for hmm?" Reaper asked as Luke sighed. "Well Surgeo wanted you to tell you more about the schedule and stuff...." Luke said as Liam nodded in agreement.

"Did he hmm?....well tell him that I 'am quite busy and that he should be asleep...it is quite late after all..." Reaper said as Liam saluted him..."You can count on us sir!, we shall not disappoint you!" Liam said as Reaper nodded his head. "Yes yes...you do that...I'll be umm..in the kelp forest a bit longer...observering...." Reaper said as he swam away, and the other did the same. "Phew....thought my cover would have been blown..." Reaper muttered as he continued into the forest. He heard the sound of something swimming behind him but when he went to look there was no one there.

"Ahh!" he screamed as he say Nightmare standing in front of him causing him to swim back a bit. "Hello......Reaper...." Nightmare said as Reaper sighed a bit. "Well...what do you want to talk about?" Reaper asked as Nightmare smirked evilly at him.

Meanwhile back with you

"I guess....this is how I die huh..." you muttered as you closed your eyes, as you heard the creature approach closer. Then suddenly there was a voice....."Y/n?" you opened your eyes to see a surprise Error. "What the kelp are you doing in a cage?..." Error said as he wrapped his tail around the cag and looked to see on how to break it. "Don't tell me that squid did that..." Error grumbled as he was examining the door.

"Well before you say anything just scoot back a bit....this may be loud..." Error said as one of his claws slashed the cage door open and broke the lock, you quickly swam out and looked around. "thank you Error-" Before you could finish you felt him wrap his long tail around you as was examining your scales. "huh.....okay your good." he said as he let go of you. "And no problem...I just didn't expect you to be here...I thought you were at Reapers castle?" he asked as you shrugged a bit.

"Well I was following an otter and then I meet....Ink?...I think thats his name...and he put me in a cage." You said as Error rolled his eye lights. "He must have thought you were an item to collect....he's weird like that....he will go around catching fish and keeping them....what a weirdo am I right..." Error said as he started swimming away slowly with you following him. "Anyways I should start showing you back to the ship....I'm sure the others will be very-" "Error!" You looked back to see Ink swimming at the both of you very quickly.

"W-what are you doing!....if you want to borrow my stuff you should just ask!" Ink said as he tried to wrap one of his tentacles around you but was swatted away by Error pulling you close to him, as you had his tail wrap around your waist. "THIS is not an item to collect idiot!......and plus she doesn't want to be in your care..." Error said as Ink whined. "Errorrrrrrr your just gonna eat her I just know ittttt" Ink whined as Error rolled his eye lights. "Don't be ridiculous....And plus I already ate dinner..." Error said as he started swimming away from Ink with you with him. "Wha!- hey! where are you going?" ink asked as he swam up with the two of you.

"Uh away from you." Error said sarcastically as Ink sighed. "Well that's just mean I mean first you take my items without asking and now-" "Will you shut the kelp up!!! your REALLY starting to irritate me!" he pauses as he heard some voices. "Shhhh...be quiet squid..." Error said as you could see a silhouette of an octopus and a Shark noding his head as the shark silhouette left. "okay we should be.....Boss!?" Error shouted as you say an octopus emerge slowly from the darkness with a singular glowing eye lights. "Welp I'm out..." Ink said as he quickly swam away. "oh.....so you found the mermaid hmm?" Nightmare asked as you were shaking a bit.
