19. Study

The air is depressing in their apartment.

Aiguo and Shilin are facing college exams. They are learning crazy like busy bees hunting honey.

Jingmi is grateful he doesn't have any plan to continue his study. He finishes his high school abroad at age eighteen.

It has been two years since he stopped studying. Living a happy rice bug life.

Until his Dad kicked him out of house.

Shilin studies business management so he could continue his family business.

Wang family main business are cosmetics, skin cares and perfumes. They have bought licenses from many foreign brands.

Aiguo studies botany in Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He plans to make his grandparents farm most efficient and profitable in the future.

Li Kangjian studies music in Shanghai Conversatory of Music. He used to study liberal art. He changed his major because he loves composing.

Jingmi goes into bedroom. He notices Fu Jiazhen is designing using his laptop.

Fu Jiazhen has chosen architecture as his major. He is frowning deeply, lost in thought.

A cool finger touches his forehead, smoothing the creases.

Jingmi teases, "Your face is your capital as an Idol. Beware of early wrinkles."

He grabs the naughty finger and pulls it away from his forehead.

"I'm busy. Don't bother me."

"What's wrong?"

Busybody Jingmi strikes again. He loves lending a hand to other members.

Fu Jiazhen sighs. He shows some pics in his laptop. It's a very old shopping mall from the eighties.

"Gramps, no, I got assignment to revamp this old and dilipidated place."

"That shopping mall? It's even older than us. Who wants to go there anymore?"

"Right..."

The building is just too old. It needs to be destroyed and totally rebuild.

There are two newer shopping malls nearby. No one wants to go to the oldest one.

After all, a shopping mall isn't a historical building.

Jingmi notices a huge dark hole at the mall outskirt.

He asks, "What's this?"

"Olympic size swimming pool. Back then, this was the major attraction for this mall. Now, it's dried up and cracked a lot."

Jingmi asks, "How about the neighborhood? Any houses nearby?"

Fu Jiazhen checks the info sent by Grandpa.

He explains, "Six apartment complexes nearby. Two elementary schools and a high school. Three office buildings."

"Two newer shopping malls close-by," adds him.

He mentions the names of shopping malls.

Jingmi is glad none of the shopping malls belong to his family. He rubs his hands and shows some eagerness to help.

He has active imagination. He has a dream shopping mall without an outlet to realize it.

Jingmi asks, "What are you going to do with that broken swimming pool?"

"What else? Refill it with dirt."

"It would cost a lot of money."

Fu Jiazhen sighs.
