Episode V.

A new day arrived, and Ava woke up to the noise of her alarm. She got up and did her everyday routine. After a few hours, she went to Starbucks to buy some brewed coffee and a vegan burger. She paid for it through her debit and found a seat for her to sit down and wait for her order.

She did not notice that someone caught her eye, and it was, Russell. He walked all the way to meet her, but her name was called by the crew. "Brewed coffee and a vegan burger to Miss Bella" She got up and went straight to the counter. The playboy was behind her, she did not even see her recognize his gaze, Ava walked past to go to her designated table, and she tripped her toes and bumped into Russell. A hot brewed coffee splashed all over Russell's expensive Nike Jacket. "It was hot!" Russell shouted and wiped his jacket with a clean cloth. Ava was shocked to see Russell in front of her, "Oh my gosh, I'm sorry! I haven't seen you there" Ava apologizes as she helps Russell wipe his wet jacket. Ava ordered another brewed coffee, one for each of them.

They sat down and talked about things and random kinds of stuff. "So, ummm... I didn't mean to ask but is Psychology your dream job?" Russell asked. "Yes, it is," Ava answered without having second thoughts. "And does it make you happy?" he added. "It makes me happy to help. other people when it comes to mental health issues or if you cannot fully control your emotions, it is my calling, my vocation, my mission, and my responsibility to answer when someone asks for help" Ava answered with poise.

After a long chitchat with Mr. Playboy, she was cornered by Ava by asking, "Why are you a playboy?" Ava asked him straightforwardly. "Well... my father is a notorious womanizer. He left me and my mom, he was actually with another family now, but I am not angry with him, I am just angry with whatever he did with us. I was so blind that it almost made me turn into a playboy just like my father, I hurt my mom's feelings and I let her down. I assume that our parents wanted us to be married since they were expecting a child from us. And my mother was also expecting that you would change me" He answered with intent and honesty. "But it is not my responsibility to fix you or change you. It is only you who can change yourself, Russell, I was only there as your guide and nothing else" Ava exclaimed. "That's right Doc, thanks for listening. I needed someone to talk to sometimes" Russell smiled at Ava. After a while, they waved goodbye since Ava had important matters to attend to and Russell reminded her of their date this evening.

Ava had been eagerly looking forward to her movie night with Russell. They had made plans to meet at the cinema, and she had even picked out the perfect movie to watch together. But as the clock ticked closer to their meeting time, Russell was nowhere to be found, and he hadn't responded to her calls or texts.

Ava, growing increasingly worried and frustrated, decided to wait a bit longer at the cinema, hoping Russell might still show up. She checked her phone repeatedly, but there was no word from him. As the minutes turned into an hour, Ava's anticipation turned into disappointment and concern.

Finally, realizing that Russell wasn't going to make it, Ava left the cinema feeling hurt and abandoned. She couldn't understand why he had stood her up without any explanation. It was a lonely and disappointing night for Ava, who had been looking forward to sharing the movie experience with her friend.

As Ava went home, her phone beeped a message and as she opened her phone, Russell was drunk texting her. He told her that he had made different plans, jetting off to the Maldives with another girl, leaving her in the dark, and feeling angry and betrayed by his actions.

Russell's POV

In the turquoise waters of the Maldives, where the sun kissed the horizon and the gentle waves whispered secrets to the shore, Russell Ortega found himself in the company of a remarkable woman. Her name was Dr. Isabella Garcia, and she too was a doctor, working alongside Dr. Ava Ramirez at the same hospital.
