Flashback

Narrator Y/N: I remember when Grandpa died, he was really sick unable to leave the bed. Me and Him were super close. He taught me how to garden, to treat animals with the up most care and always made the best grilled cheese. But once he got sick we couldn't those things anymore. Me and my family would visit him any chance we got up until our last visit.

Narrator Y/N: Our last visit was the hardest on me because this is going to be the last time I ever saw him. He gave everyone gifts I don't remember what my family got but I remember what he gave me and what he told me.

Grandpa: ...and for my special grandson: I want you to have the sealed envelope.

A younger Y/N about 12 approached the bed ridden man and took the envelope in slight confusion. He was about to open it but his Grandpa stopped him.

Grandpa: No, no don't open it yet... have patience.

The younger Y/N look up at his Grandpa and held the envelope protectively.

Grandpa: Now listen close... There would come a day when you feel crushed by the burden of the modern life.

Y/n only nodded at him hugging the letter to his chest his eye becoming glossy.

Grandpa: ...and your bright spirit will fade before a growing emptiness.

Y/N then looked down at the floor tears flowing from him eyes till he felt a weight on to if his head looking he saw Grandpa patting his head smiling softly at him.

Grandpa: When that happens, my boy, you'll be ready for the gift.
