After Taehyung's mother left, Jungkook turned to look at him, but he froze, swallowing hard when he saw those two big, innocent eyes staring right at him. The sheer vulnerability in Taehyung’s gaze drove Jungkook to the edge of his sanity. He clenched his fists, trying to rein in his emotions.

Clearing his throat, he managed to order the nurse, “Take him to his room and make sure he changes into a hospital gown.”

The nurse nodded and gently guided Taehyung away. Jungkook watched them leave, his eyes following every step Taehyung took, each movement of the omega’s slender form sending shivers down his spine.

As soon as Taehyung was out of sight, Jungkook exhaled deeply, retreating to his chamber. He sank into his chair, placing a trembling hand over his chest. His heart was racing—pounding so fiercely he thought it might burst. But there was a smile on his face, soft yet intense, because that wild heartbeat was for Taehyung alone.

He leaned back, running a hand through his hair, his fingers grazing the piercing on his lip. He caught the cool metal between his teeth, chewing on it thoughtfully before tucking a stray strand of hair behind his ear. His thoughts swirled like a storm—possessive, protective, and yearning all at once.

Standing up, he walked over to his desk, his hand shaking slightly as he opened the drawer. His eyes fell on the small bottle of medicine inside. A smirk crept onto his lips. This was it. The final step to ensure Taehyung would be his—his forever. The thought alone made his wolf howl in satisfaction.

___

Taehyung sat quietly in the hospital room, fidgeting with the loose thread on his gown, his teeth worrying his bottom lip. Nervousness twisted in his stomach, not because he was alone in the hospital, but because of Jungkook. His heart ached with both fear and anticipation.

He sighed softly, a mix of sadness and frustration clouding his eyes. In a few days, he would be married, bound to someone he didn’t want, someone he could never love. The thought of it made his heart ache even more.

“I don’t want this,” he whispered to himself, the words barely audible. “I don’t want to marry someone else.”

His fingers stilled on the thread as his thoughts drifted to the only person he truly wanted—Jeon Jungkook. It would be a lie to say he simply liked Jungkook. No, it was far deeper than that. He had loved Jungkook for as long as he could remember.

“Why does it have to be like this?” he murmured, feeling the sting of unshed tears.

He loved everything about Jungkook—his gentle care, his fierce protectiveness, the way his eyes softened whenever they landed on him. He adored the way Jungkook always made him feel special, as if he were the most precious thing in the world.

“No one else will ever love me like that,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “No one else even cares for omegas... But Jungkook...”

He knew how society viewed people like him. Omegas were often treated as lesser, weak, and disposable. They were seen as property, not individuals with dreams and desires. But Jungkook was different. He had never looked down on him, never made him feel anything less than treasured.
