Ugh...
I thought as I was sitting in math class with an entirely finished paper that was supposed to take a few days that only took me a few minutes. It's so strange that everyone took so long on things, I wish that I could just do my homework already.
A whisper jolted me from my daze. "Psssst Carter!" someone whisper shouts at me. I jumped and turned quickly, oh thank the skies it's just Eli. He aggressively shoves me with a note and I almost fall over and he has to suppress a laugh.
"Something wrong back there boys?" The teacher said with his resting snooty face. Our group of kids in the back were trying not to laugh and I had a feeling we were gonna get a talking-to.
"Sir with all due respect,"
"Which is none." Someone whispers, followed by several bursts of giggles.
"There is always something wrong with those two." Says one of our best friends, Raven.
"Mhm, they have shown that very well, you two better shape up and stop talking or I WILL move you." He says, giving a stare only the most boring of people could manage to do.
"Yes sir." me and Eli say in unison and giggle a little.
"You two are such dorks." Em says while rolling her eyes and I turn my head down and finally look at the note Eli gave me.
'You done? I am' It says, I pass one back.
'You know it'
Raven noticed and got the whole group in on it, pretty soon we were all passing notes to each other. 'lol this was easy' Raven writes.
'lol ik' Writes Daven, Raven's boyfriend, and another one of our best friends.
Raven then wrote to our ENTIRE friend group aka the entirety of the back portion of class. (Me, Eli, Em, Beth, Jam, Destiny, Star and Stace.) To tell us that we should all come over after school ended. I never realized the amount of people in our friend group we actually have... It would suck for someone who just met us to try to remember all these names.
I'm pretty sure the teacher could feel the excitement coming from that corner of the room and was like 'uh, no' so he called on Raven to answer question eleven on the board which no one had raised their hand to because it was, one, phrased weird. Two, even if you understood how it was phrased you would have to do a lot of circling math. Three, It was a new concept that hadn't been introduced yet. But Raven probably has already finished it, like me and Eli.
So Raven walked her privileged butt up there and flawlessly answered the question. And if that weren't impressive enough, she did it all in cursive. (And fancy numbers I guess.) When she finished she just sort of stood there sleepily.
"My apologies, it seems you have been paying attention." Our math teacher says.
"You wish." Raven says and the bell then rings, we all look at each other and giggle at the irony.
We all rush for our stuff and get out of the classroom in less than a second. Besides Raven and Daven that is, Raven just doesn't care and Daven is head over heels for her. The teacher was yelling something about how 'the bell doesn't dismiss you, I do.' So Raven walked past him and threw a handful of daisies at him from god knows where while Daven followed her like a little puppy.
I ran out the school doors ready for sunshine and great times.
But nOoooOOoo it was raining and all I got was wet, I shout a curse as it is raining harder than that damned math teacher's head. "What's wrong?" Eli laughed.
"It's raining harder than the brick wall between him and his brother" says Star.
"Pfft be nice!" Eli says, while sharing his umbrella with me.
